Starting to Remember Yahoo Group
Aes, we're now a GROUP so change your bookmarks. What better use of internet space than to start a forum for younger Duranies?
Don't be put off by the "younger Duranies" sobriquet - any and all sweet and compassionate Duranies are invited to join.
Darran's Duran Duran Page
amazing UK fan site. Very comprehensive history from the early days to present, complete lyrics, photo gallery, individual biographies, etc. also host of a popular chatroom and message board; a must-see.
Also visit the dd.co.uk message board, which, unlike the dd.com one, actually works. all the time.
Duran Duran Official Site
Renovated since the release of "Pop Trash" - very graphics intensive but has a reasonably good question and answer page, a great photo gallery, an interactive fan forum, news bulletins, etc. Cool stuff if you have the patience to let it load.
Lately it's been so unreliable that I don't visit there much.
Duran Timeline
Forget when Duran Duran played your town? Or when Seven and the Ragged Tiger was recorded? That and more available at Catherine's site. (Catherine was an extra in the JT movie "Sugartown.")
Lizard King Page
I don't go here very often because usually, if you're not one of "them," the only way out alive is
with a flame-retardant suit. But it is the home of the Friends_Of_Mine mailing list, and extensive message boards. To my knowledge,
content isn't updated frequently.
Whoosh - www.duranduran.dk
Danish Duran Duran site that has a boatload of funny quotes and other interesting bits. The only problem I see with this site is that the lefthand menu bar isn't very informative as to what each link goes to what page, so if you're
an archeaologist it's okay. Want to kill time and enjoy yourself while doing it? This is the place. This page takes an insane time to load, because of the animated GIFs and large graphics.
Nick Rhodes related links
my Devils links page
Over on my Devils page, The Devils Made Me Do It! Devils' related links, including discographies and sites on ex-Duran Duran Stephen Duffy. The page still exists, although TDMMDI is essentially defunct.
The Devils Official Site
Official site for Nick's side project with Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy, aka the first lead singer of Duran Duran in the late '70s. Their new album came out 15 July 2002 in the UK only so go over to Amazon UK and order it now I say! I only wish the website was keeping up with the band - it hasn't
been updated since December 2002. It was nice to get recognized there for running the first Devils fansite, hafta admit. Site no longer exists.
The Temple of St. Nick
Even us JT fans occasionally stray from our bass god. There are enough pictures
here to make your head spin. Good stuff here; again, wish it was updated more often.
Rhodesgemini
This is Tracey's Nick site with a lot of
pictures, artwork, and a very good and long fanfic that Tracey wrote with another friend of mine, Ruth. Tracey likes to doctor up Nick photos with some fabulous results; you will not be disappointed! Hrm, it appears that Tracey must have moved the index page, so this link no longer works.
John Taylor related links
Trust the Process (TTP)
Aka http://www.johntayloronline.com - John's official solo page. Updated pretty
regularly, and there is some great stuff from his DD days on there - including rare photos of some of his
most outrageous outfits, philosophical thoughts about those heady days of stardom, and lots of more
recent diary entries from the road, with pictures too! Just goes to show
that John is an amazing guy willing to give back to his fans. Patty Palazzo has been kind enough to keep us updated with the latest JT news and now more recently news of the reunion.
MP3.com - John Taylor Terroristen
Let's face it - until John gets a major contract you can get John's solo
stuff only through TTP. In the meantime John has been nice enough to put some nifty MP3 downloads here
for our listening enjoyment. Shucks, this page doesn't exist anymore either!
Meltdown Radio on Live365.com
John's official radio station. Hear lots of John's solo stuff, John's side projects (Power Station, Neurotic Outsiders, etc.), live performances, and more! Highly addictive; I can vouch for that.
The great djoktober presiding. Faster connection now required because the slower modem connection no longer exists. Note on 29/09/05: now featuring songs from Astronaut!
Simon LeBon related links
Editor's note: I don't know what is going on with most of the Simon sites I used to visit, but they're all either gone - Synbabe is now a junky phishing site, and everything else I go to has either moved or I'm forbidden to see the content. So...if you you've got a Simon site you'd like to recommend, I'll add it here.
Heart's Desire - a LeBon Lovers Delight
I got a nice email from a woman named Cortney asking me to add her site. Let me warn you that when you open this site, an amazing version of "Dreamboy" begins to play, a version I'd never heard before. That alone makes this site worthy of being on my list!
Silly and fun stuff
personal personality stuff
Why? Because I like to take these little quizzes and I think it's fun. So there. A lot of them can be taken at emode.com.
HumanMetrics
A place to take the Jung Typology test - also popularly known as the Keirsey or Myers-Briggs test. I personally
think Please Understand Me II is an amazing literary achievement. It's single-handedly been able to explain why I haven't found "the one," why I get
frustrated with life, and why I do the things I do. My mom is creeped out by the whole personality thing but it explains quite a bit why my brother and I
don't really get along.
TheBeatles.com
Um...it's the Beatles. What else do you want? The Yellow Submarine game is a hoot. I kept running the bus into buildings! (I'm not sure if the game is still there though, because they completely remodeled the site.)
PaulMcCartney.com
Much more than a Flaming Pie. Honest.
John Edward Official Website
Before you start snickering, you should read one of his books - either Crossing Over or One Last Time, which made me a believer. That and his
appearances on Larry King Live. Larry of all people is not the type to pull the wool over people's eyes.
Rathergood
Oh my god. The Destiny's Child link had tears coming out of my eyes. I've never seen Alf Garnett before but he makes an hilarious image on baby clothes and aluminum siding.
Homestarrunner
Now I'm not so sure who recommended this site to me - I think it was my graduate school roommate Ray. If you're at all net-savvy, you already
know about this page.
Pogo
Are you bored? Check out the free games here. I'm mad that they removed Dynomite and put in all these pay-for games, but I like stretching my brain on Word Whomp and Tumble Bees, and when I want to kill time, I run the Showbiz Slots - instant gratification without spending a single nickel.
Livejournal
It took more than 2 years, but I finally succumbed and got an LJ. However, you'd be hard-pressed to find it, as only a handful of my friends know about it and what my username is.

Updated on July 28, 2002, June 22, 2003 (when the colour got changed becaused I decided candy pink was for babies), December 25, 2003 (when I got bored out of my mind and decided to remove all the bad links and add a bunch of personality test results), December 29, 2003 (when I reorganized), and September 29 and 30, 2005 (when a nice person asked me to add her Simon site and I tried out all the links to see which ones still worked).
