A little about me. After playing in law enforcement and seeing all the fun that fire and EMS get into, I decided to change careers. All total I have been in public safety for a little over 20 years and soon hope to be doing both law enforcement and EMS.

I live in Honolulu with my husband and 3 sons. My children are see-sawing between wanting to go into law enforcement and firefighting with the oldest one setting his goals at getting certified in both fire and law enforcement and become an arson investigator. For those of you who like both worlds and have a hard time picking, this is a great way to go.

If I seem to get "into" the safety and prevention end a little heavy, it's just due to seeing too much death and destruction. In this business, we all get adrenaline rushes to do what we are trained to do - save lives and property but none of us (at least the sane ones) enjoy seeing the destruction of lives that fire and accidents brings. A little prevention DOES save lives and can save a lot of money in property damage.
