Comments: Your sight was Inspirational. Currently my family and I are in the process of changing from HO to N scale to obtain the vistas we desire. I grew up in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and lived only a half a block from the Chicago and Northwestern rail road tracks. I will always have a special fondness for the C&NW. At the current time I'm modeling the Rock Island during the fall of 1965, running from des Moines to Rock Island, however the modeled portion will only be from Otley to Rose Hill. Since I also ran around Beacon as a child I'm also running a branch from Evens to Beacon, so I'm changing history a little, it's my layout. Any help to find information on Oskaloosa and Pella during the mid sixties will be appreciated. I remember the C&NW running F units through Oskaloosa with a certain configuration but have never found pictures of them. They were all cab units with the first unit facing foreward, the second facing backward, the third foreward, and the fourth and fifth facing backward. This was done quite often. Does anybody know why.
Comments: Absolutely a great site. I always enjoy anything I can find on the C&NW. I have lived just west of Des Moines my whole life and I always loved watching the C&NW trains. Now that I am in college here in Ames I get to see trains Everyday. Unfortunately hey are now completely yellow instead of the green and yellow but I will make do. Keep up the good work
Comments: You layout is great, but I MUST tell you that the picture of the CNW C44-9W is simply BE-A-U-TI-FUL!!! It is so clear, and smooth and the detail is outstanding!!! I love this picture and congratulate and commend you on taking this beautiful shot!
Comments: Your page was great I added it to my favorite's on my computer. I to was thinking on doing the CN&W with the UP but have not set any boundary's yet. My friend and I are currently in the process of an HO set with diff. road names thrown together but I have moved over to N scale to start my own personal lay out. You have a great layout and you have inspired me greatly. I look forward to the future pictures. Shane P.S. Do you think it possible to write me some time with hints towards a great layout I'm only 16 and would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.
Comments: Just visiting..Am a CNW modeler .. Formerly a railfan also with 1000s of CNW slides including many Alcos since I lived in Huron for five years in the '70s and in Green Bay since then. Nice to peruse your web site..
Comments: Nice to see how other folks model railways. My chosen model is the idylic era between the wars when Britain moved at a more relaxed pace and grafitti and vandalism were unheard of. Excellent scenery, by the way. Regards, Paul.
Comments: Just browsing through. Nice site, although the colors could use some work

Comments: Currently my layout is out of service. The layout out grew my 8x12 shed, so I am in the process of tearing down the shed and have plans of building a 14x20 building and start over with my layout. Since I now work as a Trainman on the UP here in N. Littl Rock / Pine Bluff. I will change my layout to UP. I have already started repainting some of my equipment.
Comments: Very empressed. I will have to get my layout under way. I live in New Zealand (south pacific ocean)
