On July 25th, 1998 25,000 people flooded into London's Hyde Park to watch the spectacular open air dance extravaganza, 'Feet of Flames'.

With his feet moving too fast to catch fire, Michael Flatley and his 100 strong cast, took dance into hitherto undreamt of dimensions.

Feet of Flames was a one-off special, the culmination of everything Michael Flatley has learnt in a remarkable career. He created Lord of the Dance, the dance phenomenon of the decade, which has captivated audiences all around the world and has spawned video and CD sales in their millions. There are now three Lord of the Dance troupes, each 40 strong, performing around the world. One is touring Europe, one is touring across America and the third is permanently resident in Las Vegas. A fourth troupe will shortly be launched in Disneyland, Florida.

On Feet of Flames, Michael shows he is not just the master of the stage but the fastest dancer in the world capable of 35 seperate taps in a second. He is also a visionary choreographer and an accomplished musician. On this album, which captures the unique atmosphere of the performance in Hyde Park, Michael demonstrates his command of the flute on three new songs, the band number 'Celtic Fire', and haunting solos on 'Whispering Wind' and 'Dance of Love'.

Michael Flatley has proved dance can flourish as a multi media spectacle. Feet of Flames will stand as a permanent legacy of his vision as he prepares to develop new challenges, which will continue to astound and delight his millions of fans.

RONAN HARDIMAN
In 1990 Ronan Hardiman left his daytime job as a teller with the bank of Ireland to pursue his dream of one day becoming an acclaimed composer.

He quickly became a sought after bright, new talent within th eIrish television and film industry. By 1996, when Michael Flaltey commissioned him to compose the music for 'Lord of the Dance', Hardiman's list of credits and awards were as impressive as they were international with major commissions from the BBC and PBS(US) completed.

The spectacular global success of 'Lord of the Dance' propelled Hardiman's career into overdrive. Flooded with offers from around the world, Hardiman chose to accept an offer from PolyGram Records to write and record a solo project. In March 1998 Hardiman released 'Solas', his first solo CD.

Already achieving gold status in Ireland, 'Solas' is currently enjoying enormous success in the US and since release has been in the Billboard New Age Top Twenty charts. 'Solas' is scheduled for release in Europe in Autumn 1998.

In June 1998 the highly successful collaboration between Flatley and Hardiman continued when Hardiman was commissioned to compose the score for 'Feet of Flames' - Michael Flatley's final performance as 'Lord of the Dance'.

More recently, Hardiman received the distinguished honour of being specially commissioned by the Government of the Republic of Ireland to compose an original piece of music celebrating the millenium.
