Games
as "PETS"
Black & White I think not being allowed to have a pet as a young child affected me more than I thought. Though I bought Black and White at its release and have since stopped playing it very much since getting re-imeshed into my MMORPGs, I always feel like I'm going to play it in a few minutes...and that I'd like to play with my Creature more. This game is great, you not only get to be a God/dess but you also get a very cool pet with it's own personality to help you with your deeds. The choice of being a "good" or "bad" God/dess is also up to you. One day I'll take my creature online and pit him against the other "pets". |
The Sims & The Sims Expansion: Livin' Large I think my fascination with this game is also tied with my early childhood "pet deficiency". I took the families I'd created and did my best to provide for them and was amused at their personality differences. Of course I also used the "money cheat" with one family just to be able to make them live in my dream "doll house".

MMORPGS
Dark Age of Camelot I spend the majority of my gaming time in this gaming universe and I'm thorougly enjoying it. Being part of the start of a game feels great as well as the customer attention received from the makers. I'm also enjoying seeing old friends who retired from the other MMORPGs who have taken up this game as their new hobby. |
EverQuest: Trilogy EverQuest is responsible for getting me interested into computer games again. Unlike players who'd been involved with MUDs, the whole concept of an online game, must less a MMORPG, was first introduced to me by this game. The immersion I felt being introduced to this concept immediately made it fun and opened the door for me to try the other MMORPGs to follow this one. |

Civilization 2 (Jewel Case) I thorougly enjoyed this game and also felt like I gained a slightly better understanding of the development of civilizations. A great single player game with smart enough AI to keep you on your toes. |

Hack (NetHack) The most thoroughly addictive game ever...with the most basic of graphics. After choosing your role as an Adventurer, Knight, Barbarian, Spelunker, Tourist or others, you will learn to fear capital "A"s and "Ds" as you go through dungeon level after dungeon level seeking the Amulet of Yendor. I am seriously afraid to reload this on my machine lest the last of my free time slip away. Click the name link for a FREE version, but don't say I didn't warn you! |

Tetris, Mah Jong, Solitaire, Snowcraft, King's Quest 1-4, Ultima 1-4
My Favorite Non Computer Games (perhaps this is better billed as most influential)
Jenga Try this with a 2 drink minimum play level for a drinking age and over twist. I've also had as much fun with it completely sober. Best played with a minimum of 4 people for more nervous laughs, and it really is a game that truly can be "all ages". |
UNO: Exclusive 30th Anniversary Deluxe UNO Tin I don't know why I delighted in this game so much, maybe because I visciously liked to change the order of turns if I knew the person next to me was about to get UNO?...Nah. |
Clue The "let's play detective" aspect of this game appealed to me. Of course later on I always wanted get away with murder. |

Battleship "You sank my battleship!" is a line I think I will carry with me to my grave. |
