Purpose:

Friends of Virgin pledge to volunteer time, talents and efforts to:

*promote understanding by researching and reporting on key issues;
*encourage civic involvement by collaborating with fellow residents on common causes;
*advocate for open government and adherence to ordinances and regulations

Whenever possible the Friends of Virgin shall: 

*promote open governmental practices;
*promote adherence to state law by Virgin town officials and employees;
*inform decision-makers about the desires of residents;
*inform residents about the actions of decision-makers;
*assist residents and decision-makers by researching key issues;
*encourage equal treatment of all residents by decision-makers and employees;
*encourage the adoption of specific rules of procedure to clarify and tighten policies
support and assist in a thoughtful, educated reworking of the Virgin General Plan;
*support and assist in examining and modifying the Virgin Uniform Zoning Ordinance

Excerpts from a Model for Cluster Subdivisions
VISION OF VIRGIN SURVEY RESULTS
If you would like to become a Friend:
As a newly incorporated non-profit organization, we have incurred some debt which we are trying to reduce by soliciting new members and donations.  Since our purpose is partly to influence legislation, we are not tax-exempt.  Our group is composed of voting and non-voting members; we also have support of non-member anonymous donors.  You may help by donating any of the following:
-$20 for which you will recieve a gift of one all-cotton  tee-shirt (L, XL, XXL, XXXL; Sage, Brown, Wisteria, Butter)
-$25 annually for a regular membership (you will receive a printed newsletter);    
-$40 for a regular membership, (you will receive a printed newsletter and a tee-shirt);
-$250 annually for a voting membership (may be replaced by 250 hours of accepted service)
- various needed equipment, supplies, or services (from a stamp to a copy machine!)
- donations of any amount at anytime

Your donation (via cash, check, credit card, or Paypal) will help us pay fees, buy educational materials, publish our newsletter, and more.
If you prefer you may help by donating any of the following needed items:

*stamps!
*microcassette tapes
*AA batteries
*paper, three ring binders and office supplies
*a copy machine; a shredder; a laptop
*any records, photos, documents (or copies) relating to the Virgin area and its history
*certain kinds of service at the discretion of the Board (attorneys, accountants, private investigators, please speak up!)

We can also use:
*email addresses of other interested people
*links to helpful or interesting sites
*the service of attorneys, private investigators, accountants, etc.
To proceed, just  send us an email.  If by chance your email is returned, don't give up; we will soon empty our box if it has become full.
