This is the last night before surgery. The ramp is done and in place. We took him up and down it several times. The first time, he was afraid and jumped off halfway down. After a few times going up and down it, he seemed more comfortable. I am *really* glad that we tried it out before he came home. He would have been hurting and scared. Once he starts feeling better, we will have to watch him so he doesn't try to jump off. Our neighbor was up for the weekend at her cabin and had a friend visiting. The friend had a German Shepherd. He decided to come over twice today to visit Magnum. I'm a little concerned about this kind of thing happening in the future. He was friendly but I would hate for another dog to come over and jump on him or cause him to try to take off or jump on that leg before it's ready. I guess there are a million things I could worry about but I'm not going to. God has provided the money to get this procedure done, He has guided me to a surgeon nearby and I am going to trust Him for the outcome. Lord, You made the animals and you care about them too. You care about everything that happens in our lives and want us to come to you with our cares and concerns. I'm putting Magnum in your hands tonight. Watch over him during his surgery, guide the surgeons hands and bring Magnum through this procedure with flying colors. Help him to have a fast, easy, uncomplicated recovery and help us to be able to glorify you through this experience. Thank you, Lord, for giving us the funding and guiding us to a Dr. who does this procedure and give us the strength and patience to get him through this so he can run and play and chase the ducks again. Thank you for creating dogs and giving them to us to enjoy and love and thank you most of all for your son, Jesus, in whose name I ask all these things and in whom we have eternal life. |
