| 3/31/01 Only 2 more days til the big day. We gave him a bath today. It took my 22 yr old daughter, her fiancee and my 12 yr old son to get him in the bathroom. Then they had to pick him up to get him in the tub. He still weighs close to 100 lbs. so that was no easy task. We put the carpet in the entryway and worked on the ramp. I think we have a good recovery area for him when he comes home too. His sling came the other day. It's a nice sling, fleece lined and adjustable handles but he still doesn't like the idea of a sling at all. He'll walk a little bit and then just plop. I hope he's a little more co-operative when he comes home. I got the sling from Four Flags Over Aspen. I'll probably wash his bedding on Monday while he is gone so he has clean bedding when he comes home. Monica brought him a BIG bone for his recovery time and I got him some big dog biscuits. One of the other people on the orthodogs list gives her dog a big biscuit inside an old sock and then ties a knot in it. That keeps them busy for a while trying to get the bone out. Then there are stuffed Kongs and stuffed bones and Magnum's favorite, rawhide. I think by the time he's all healed, he is going to be a very spoiled poochie. |
