Well, we are 18 days post TPLO today.  I can't believe how fast the time has gone even though we aren't allowed to do anything yet.  We go for x-rays one week from today.

Dr. Meinen returned my call this afternoon.  He basically said not to worry.  He said they have had dogs come in with no cruciate in either leg and they repair one leg at a time and the dogs do fine so he should be o.k. even *if* his other leg does go.  He also said that he didn't feel any laxity in Magnum's right leg when he examined him a while back and is hoping the leg will hold and he won't need surgery at all.  Also, when he went in there for the TPLO surgery , he found a lot of arthritic damage as his cruciate had been bad for a long time before the surgery.  He said that Magnum's recovery could be a little slower than some because of all the arthritis and muscle loss.  He would also like to see Magnum swimming later on when he is more healed.  So, we'll have to get that raft built and take Magnum out on the lake so he can go swimming.

This morning Steve and Kurt took Magnum out to potty.  I was looking out the sunroom window, which is on the second floor, and saw a pair of ducks laying in the yard where Magnum likes to potty.  I hollered to the guys as a warning but I guess they didn't hear me.  When they came in they said Magnum went out and went pee right away.  Then he started sniffing around and all of a sudden he took off.  It was a good thing Steve was holding the leash and not Kurt or Kurt would have gone grass skiing.  Magnum didn't get too far because he was on a leash but he had found the ducks and wanted to get them.
