Magnum has been doing good. We have been swimming every other day for 30 minutes. The off days are supposed to be when he rests but sometimes he just gets too excited and I figure the running around and jumping probably does more damage than the swimming so sometimes we go for 10 minutes on his off day. As much as possible, though, I try to make them his rest days. I'm still trying to come up with the money for his shots. I am very anxious to see what kind of results we get from them. It would be great if he could get strong enough and feel good enough to go on our 1 hr walks with us. One of the problems with our walks is going to be when we walk along the beach. In the winter I don't want him in the water or on the ice. The way he acts around that water, it's going to be hard to keep him walking along the beach and not in the water. I'm hoping that after a few times of walking *along* the beach he'll get used to it and not pull so hard to get in the water. Another problem *may* be that his leg will get cold and the plate may get cold enough to hurt. I'm trying to come up with a leg warmer or something for him to wear this winter. So far, out of all the people who have said they use Adequan shots, I haven't heard anything negative yet. In every case, there has been at least some improvement. Right now Magnum goes up and down stairs pretty much as he pleases. He likes to sleep on the mattress under my son's bunk bed and on Erica's bed. Guess he's gotten a little spoiled. We let him off leash outside to potty most of the time, although he did try to run off on his once and he did run across the street once. So, we really need to watch him. He still has some snapping in his leg from time to time although it doesn't seem to happen as often anymore. He also stretches his TPLO leg quite a bit, especially when first getting up. |
