Eric came in about 47 minutes into the show.

Regis: Ok he's a real hit as a gangster guy in the new CBS series Falcone Here's Eric Roberts. Eric How ya doing?

[KathyLee gets a kiss on the cheek]

KathyLee: How ya doing?

Eric: I brought you something Regis because your legs need it.

[Eric hands Regis a bottle of St. Ives lotion]

KathyLee: I told you your leg looked like a ham hock.

[In the opening segment, Regis had pulled up his pants leg to show audience dry skin on his leg]

Eric: No, my wife has several pet squirrels.

Regis: In the house?

Eric: No, no, no.

Regis: You mean they're out in the yard like everybody else's pet squirrels .

Eric: But these come down the tree and eat out of your hand and everybody says they're not the same ones but we know they're the same ones because they're obese.

KathyLee: [amused] Oooohhh.

Regis: Because they're the only ones that are hand fed.

Eric: My wife feeds them endlessly. They all weigh about 5 pounds apiece.

Regis: Wow, and they're your squirrels.

KathyLee: It takes a little work to get up the tree, no?

Eric: They're slow.

Regis: They're slowing down.

KathyLee: Some big cat comes after them they're in trouble.

Regis: Where do you live? On a sort of a farm upstate...

Eric: I have a place on the Hudson river upstate but I have a home in L.A. in Sherman Oaks as well.

Regis: And you ride some horses, too.

Eric: Yeah ,I got a couple of horses. I made a movie in... when was it ? 1991, with Wayne Newton [Best of the Best II] who is probably the best guy on the planet and I've got to tell you this story. You'll agree with me. I got invited to his ranch and I went and I'm looking at his horses and he offered me a horse.

Live!

KathyLee: He's got gorgeous thorough breds.

Regis: Yes he does.

Eric: He has beautiful Egyptian Arabs.

KathyLee: Egyptians, yes.

Eric: This beautiful white mare... So I said sure. So I went home from Los Vegas to New York and I turn on CNN and it says Wayne Newton owes about $8 million in back taxes. So I assume I'll never see that horse. But then a month passed and his ranch foreman called me and says we're going to send this horse ,but she's pregnant, so where do I send her?

Eric: So I vet her and my wife will have a horse, too. So we have two Egyptian Arabs out of his line. Their names are Silk and Sagan, after Carl Sagan.

Regis: Isn't that terrific?

KathyLee: Yeah Silk and Sagan.

Regis: OK. When we come back we'll talk about Falcone. Falcone - in just a moment.

[Commercial]

Regis: All right, you probably heard about this new show over at CBS called Falcone. It's a mob story and Eric here plays Ricci, the mad man , and you've become the mob boss after the old mob boss is killed mysteriously, right?

KathyLee: Or maybe not so mysteriously. Usually they know who's behind all that don't they?

[Eric smiles and kind of rolls his eyes. He's probably not supposed to say anything that will give away plot points.] Regis: Well they have a suspicion. Let's take a look at a clip right now. You're still trying to run things even though you're in a psychiatric hospital.

KathyLee: Hey, it happens!

Regis: Eric Roberts [in] Falcone...

[Clip rolls]

[In the psychiatric ward at Riker's Island. Ricci is wearing green hospital scrubs and is speaking to members of his gang.]

Ricci: My life ain't worth 40 cents if I don't do what's right. What happened to Carlo Volonte was not unexpected. It was legitimate. 'Cause Carlo was a greedy hypocrite cheating the family out of money. Carlo's death has left a void. Every wise guy and his mother wants to scrounge around, look into his soul and dig something out. [evil laugh] A person can't find what was never there. So these pretenders, I ain't worried about. I'll take care of them and then I'll be named boss. [End Clip]

KathyLee: So good [sigh], always.

Regis: You've got to be the best looking mob boss I've ever seen.

KathyLee: Don't tell John Gotti that. He'll be mad.

Regis: So Falcone premiers tomorrow night on CBS. [Standing up to leave & shaking hands]

Eric: It's such a good show.

[applause, commercial]
