"So..." Alesha grinned as she settled into the mound of pillows on the floor.
"So what?" Lori asked, her face turning slightly red at being put on the spot.
Alesha laughed, "Whaddaya think?"
"About what?"
"Kevin, AJ, Nick...and of course...Howie and Bri."
"Well, I think Nick is adorable, but I guess I just don't really see how you could be so deep with him. He seems so young at times." She looked at Alesha. Alesha was giving her a "and what am I?" look. Lori started laughing. "Okay...so ya'll act alike..hehe. Ya'll look cute together, too. And you're obviously happy. And ya'll just complement each other so well."
Alesha smiled. "It's got me boggled, too, Lor. Don't worry about it."
"And AJ," Lori sighed dreamily and then laughed. "Whatever I've said about how incredibly sexy he is, well, I take it all back." Alesha looked at her like she was crazy. Lori giggled. "He's beyond sexy darlin. He just oozes sensuality and sexuality. His very being just SCREAMS sin."
"Didn't notice," Alesha said rolling her eyes.
"Well, you asked." Lori grinned. "He is just so intense. And he's so funny and so sweet. Definitely cool to hang out with." Alesha nodded. There was silence for a few moments and then Lori said softly. "But I think I've completely fallen for Kevin."
"Oh really?" Alesha asked raising her eyebrow.
Lori nodded. "He is so perfect. Beautiful, smart, sweet, sexy..."
"But not as sexy as AJ, yes?" Alesha grinned.
Laughing, Lori replied, "Darlin', NOONE is as sexy as AJ."
"I beg to differ. Howie is a god."
"What's up with you two anyway. I get this crazy feeling that there is some unspoken attraction between ya'll."
Alesha sighed. "Catch that did you." She looked at Lori. "I love Nick, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't dream of doing anything to hurt him. And I don't want to be with anyone else. But gawd, when I get around D..." Alesha said looking away.
Lori nodded. "I know. I can tell."
"That obvious?" Alesha asked, a look of worry crossing her face.
"To me, yes. To them? No. So what are you going to do?"
"Nothing. Yes, I do think Howie is god's most perfect creation and he's sexy beyond all belief, but I love Nick. I have no idea why," Alesha laughed. She sighed. "I don't want to lose him. I don't know what I'm going to do when he goes back on tour."
Lori smiled sadly. "Poor Lesh. You're really hooked, huh?"
"Totally and completely," she nodded.
"Wow...so tell me everything from beginning to end again." Alesha smiled and began telling Lori how she and Nick came to be as they were today.
Just as she was finishing the story, the phone rang. Alesha looked at Lori then at the clock. It was 10:30 at night. "It had better not be Nick. I will so murder him if it is."
"Hello." Alesha answered. " >pausepause< Oh! Hi. >pausepausepausepause< No. *laughter* Whatever.>pause< Now? >pausepause< Hold on." Alesha handed the phone to Lori. She looked at it questionably, but Alesha just shrugged.
"Ummm...hello?" Lori said nervously. "KEVIN! Hi. >pausepause< No, it's okay. We're just talking." Lori looked at Alesha. Alesha grinned. Lori looked so happy. "Ummm..sure. >pausepausepause< I don't know. I'd have to see. Lesh might have some plans. Huh? >pausepausepause< About 3 weeks. >pause< Yeah. Hold on." Lori glanced at Alesha who was watching her "Homecoming Live" video again. "What are we doing tomorrow?"
Alesha shrugged, "Don't have to work for the next 2 weeks. I took my vacation early. So it's up to you darlin."
Lori grinned. "Wanna hang out with Kevin tomorrow in Orlando? I'm sure we can get Nick to come along."
Laughing Alesha said, "I'm sure Nick will just be peachy about hanging out all day with Kevin. Hehe."
Turning back to the phone she said, "Sure. >pausepause< Noon? Okay. >pause< Okay. >pausepausepause< I'm glad you did. >pause< Okay. Bye," she said hanging up the phone. "OHMIGAWD Lesh...he is so sweet!!" Lori sighed sitting on the couch.
"Have you ever noticed that Nick has absolutely no rhythm sometimes?" Alesha asked grimacing at the TV.
Lori laughed. "And you claim to love him."
"I have NEVER claimed to love his dancing. Don't get me wrong. He can slow dance the hell out of a song. But he just looks so awkward during an uptempo song. Guess he just needs to 'grow into himself'." Alesha looked at Lori. "Do you remember Guys Next Door?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I just figured out who Nick reminds me of when he dances."
"Okay."
"They had this song, it was called 'Bobby Can't Dance.' It was picking on Bobby, because much like Nick, he wasn't real strong in the moves department." Alesha started singing the song quietly.
o~/Bobby's bounds around the dance floor/I'll admit it ain't a pretty site/It's more like watching reruns/Of Roadrunner and Coyote fight/His moonwalking is hilarious/Of this you can be sure/Everytime Bobby tries to bust a move/He slips and hits the floor/Bobby moves more like a Ninja Turtle/Than a human on two feet/His likely moves and sporadic jerks can mutilate any beat/When it comes to trying new dances/Bobby's always first in line/But instead of grace and elegance/Repitiliance is what you'll find/~o
"Hehe," she said grinning.
"You, my dear," Lori said laughing, "are cruel." She shook her head.
"And this is new to you?"
"No, I was just reiterating."
"Reiterating. What a silly word," Alesha said shaking her head.
"Why is it silly? Oooh oooh. Hehe. It's my favorite part. Turn it up," Lori shrieked as AJ came out to sing "Lay Down Beside Me".
"He sticks his butt out too much," Alesha commented.
"But it's a cute butt, yeah?" Lori replied.
"How can you say that? You can't even see it. You could fit like 5 of him inside those pants." Lori reached over to smack her with a couch pillow, but Alesha dodged. "Oh god," Alesha groaned. "Fast forward," she said as "Nobody But You" started.
"NO!" Lori screeched.
"But he looks and sounds so 'Travolta-disco' Lori."
"So, it's Kevin."
"Ungh," Alesha sighed, watching Lori stare dreamily at the TV. "What's the point of that?" she asked as Kevin flipped his shirt up and shook his butt. "Does he REALLY think that's attractive?"
"Oh be quiet," Lori said scowling at her. Alesha retreated to her corner sulking. Lori noticed a grin start as the intro to Nick's solo began. "THIS song," Lori said pointing at the TV, "is annoying."
"He looks so like Leonardo Decaprio, yeah?" Alesha said laughing.
"Ungh," Lori nodded.
"You have to admit that he's extremely adorable when he says "Orlando" at the end of it."
"Yes, but this," she said watching as Nick screamed:
o~/ooooooh/I see heaven/In your eyes/~o
into the microphone. "That was unnecessary."
They watched through the rest of the video commenting on everything the guys did. They picked on all of them relentlessly. From Nick's screeching to AJ being "bassed". They swooned over their favorite parts, from Nick playing the drums ("Regular lil Don Henley, yes?" Alesha said.) to AJ with his hat in "All I Have To Give" ("God he would so make a sexy gangster type, yeah?" Lori said.).
As the last song finished, Lori said, "This is so weird."
"What?" Alesha asked.
"Yesterday I watched this video swooning and wondering what it would be like to actually know them. Today I'm watching this video laughing at them because I DO know them."
"Ahh, but are you still swooning?" Alesha asked. Lori nodded. "Then it's all good," Alesha said grinning.
