CHAPTER 85: Anticipation…

Alesha tapped her foot waiting for them to start the boarding calls. She looked at her watch and sighed. "Grrr," she thought. "I hate waiting, I hate planes. I hate waiting FOR planes." Standing up she paced back and forth in front of her carry-on bags. Walking over to the window, she looked out, trying to see the plane. "What is taking them so long?" she mumbled. Part of her anxiety was because she was nervous about meeting DarkStar. "I don't even know his real name. Aren't I the intelligent one," she thought. The other part of her hated flying. She was prone to terrible bouts of motion sickness that could keep her in bed for days. She had already taken all the Dramamine she was allowed to take in one dose, but this was longer than any flight she'd ever been on. She wasn't sure how her equilibrium was going to stand up.

Finally they called her section. Being that she was in first class, another first for her, she got to board first. Stowing her big carry-on overhead, she placed the smaller one with her Discman by her feet getting settled in her chair and locking her seatbelt. Reaching down, she pulled out the CD player and her CD wallet, flipping through it to get her music selection picked. Settling on her Simon and Garfunkle's Greatest Hits CD, she put the wallet away, and slid the bag under her chair. Setting back, she waited for everyone else to get on the plane.

Nick sighed as he sat down, picking up the Nintendo controller. He played the game for about ten minutes before finding it very boring. Dropping the controller onto the floor, he walked over to his bed, turning on the computer. Opening up Microsoft Word, he began typing in random words that had been floating around in his head all day.

o~/Worlds apart/Oceans between/Time and miles lengthen the distance/How can I reach you/How can I make you see You once said our lives were too different/Our minds separated by thoughts uncommon//Give me a chance/Look me in the eyes/Open up to me/Look in your heart/Don't be afraid/The world is ours/We can find a way//How do I bridge this gap/How do I draw you closer to me/You appear right before me/But it's just an image in my mind/Teach me your knowledge/The things that you know/My world is yours/I can hide nothing from you//Give me a chance/Look me in the eyes/Open up to me/Look in your heart/Don't be afraid/The world is ours/We can find a way//And when together we find ourselves again/I'll try to understand/Be more than just a friend to you/My back you'll never see/As I'll be walking by your side//Give me a chance/Look me in the eyes/Open up to me/Look in your heart/Don't be afraid/The world is ours/We can find a way//~o

Nick glanced at the little clock in the corner of his computer screen. Sighing, he decided he should get some sleep. Saving his work, he turned off the computer and put it away. Slipping off his jeans and taking off his shirt, he walked over to the bed. Sitting down, he picked up the frame that set next to the bed. "I love you Alesha. From now until forever. One day, we'll be back together, I promise," he whispered looking at the picture. Tracing the outline of her face, he sighed and closed his eyes. Sitting the picture down, he slid under the covers turning off the lamp.
