The Seeker  (1993)
Directed by Mike Tristano. Starring Joe Estevez , Don Stroud, Roger Lee, Neil Delama , Monique Parent , Steve Woglom ,and Michel Laurin.
I found this in a bargain bin for $4.95 , and it is probably the cheapest looking shot-on-video flick you're ever likely to see. It's a post-nuke film set in 2003. Aids has killed pretty much everyone ( including anyone with any acting ability) , and the survivors live in  huge underground cities. The wastelands are of course inhabited by hideously deformed mutant cannibals, and by a gang of evil misfits led by the frequently overacting Baron Roth.
The Baron has obtained a vial of a super Aids virus that he is threatening to release into one of the underground cities unless they hand over control to him. The leader of the city (played by Martin Sheens lesser known brother Joe Estevez) sends a seeker
on a mission to retrieve the vial. Seekers seem to be kind of like a cross between rangers , and cops. The seeker he sends is Ryan Steele ( Roger Lee ) , who Joe had thrown in prison years ago for some reason or other. From here on in , an already incoherent movie gets even more incoherent, not to mention downright confusing.
I really can't believe it exists. It seems to be filmed on a run of the mill video camera, the acting is exceptionally appalling , the fight scenes are some of the most badly choreographed you'll ever see , and it's packed with continuity errors and plot holes. Roger Lee is hilarious as Steele. He was obviously modelled on Brandon Lee, which is a pretty fitting homage to all the Bruce Lee ripoffs of the late '70's and early '80's. I couldn't believe how clumsy this guy is either. He almost trips over a number of times throughout the movie , and apparently the director couldn't be bothered doing another take.
I also got a few laughs out of the Barons cyborg Vinnie. Vinnie was leather clad , and had a highly unconvincing Austrian accent. A pretty funny Terminator in-joke. Joe Estevez was worth a couple of chuckles as always.....he's living proof that acting ability is by no means hereditary. I actually wondered how such a zero budget movie could afford to hire Joe. I know he's a pretty pisspoor actor , but this really did border on being a home movie. The Seeker was pretty pathetic in every department , yet was still moderately entertaining. If you don't like watching truly Z -grade movies , you won't last five minutes with this. But if you're in the mood for a truly appallingly bad movie , and you love Post-nukes , then you should check this out and revel in its badness.....the fight scenes are especially laughable. This makes Turkish Star Wars look high budget.
