Game Review Archive, Part Three
March 15, 2001 vs Philadelphia Flyers
The Wild have forgotten to score as Marian forgot to shoot.  Marian did not get a shot off all game but was called for tripping in the third period.  "I ain't trippin', you trippin!", the young rookie yelled at the referee.  Marian did leave a great drop pass to (Darby Hendrickson) after he stole the puck on the forecheck, but Hendrickson hit the post.  The Wild continue their poor-as-Columbus play and will be hard pressed to stay ahead of the Blue Jackets by the end of the season.  "I hate Columbus", Wild coach Jacques Lemaire once again reiterated.  The Wild finally play on broadcast TV again on Sunday, which should prove to be a competitive game if Peter Forsberg quits kicking pucks into our net rather than shooting them in like you are supposed to.  The referees committee forgot that expansion teams (except Columbus) are good enough to recieve the same treatment as Colorado, but apparently they think Forsberg is so good that he can score goals illegally.  Columbus would dominate the ECHL.

March 18, 2001 vs Colorado Avalanche
The Wild once again recieved the shaft from referee Brad Meier.  "Apparently, I am exempt from hooking calls because I am Lubomir Sekeras", said a disgusted Lubomir Sekeras after the game.  He was hooked by Peter Forsberg in the third period, but the penalty wasn't called and Colorado scored a few seconds later.  "No blood, no penalty", referee Brad Meier retorted to Sekeras' complaints.  The rules are different for Peter Forsberg when he plays our Wild.  He can score by kicking the puck into the net, as was shown in the last meeting between the teams.  He can also commit penalties without setting a foot in the penalty box.  "Peter Forsberg is so good anyways, he deserves to let the rules be bent just a little bit," added Meier.  Sorry I am bitching about the officiating, but goddamn, Meier is simply not doing his job.  He has shafted the Wild about four times so far, and that is just in games I've seen.  He really outta take a look at the rulebook sometime.  My Wild couldn't pull out the win though, I am dissapointed.  Marian had a great goal in the first period.  Beating David Aebischer top shelf.  I hate Columbus.

March 19, 2001 vs Dallas "Stars"
Well our Wild split the season series with the Stars.  More importantly, we are out of the playoffs while the Stars are preparing to lose in the first round.  Honestly now, just because we traded our second best forward and two best defensemen does not mean we should be dropping 4-1 bombs against teams like the Stars.  I can't believe that Mike Modano scored on us twice.  Whatever.  If the Wild don't finish ahead of Columbus, I am just going to snap.  Nothing positive happened in this game except that the Wild added to their NHL leading short handed goals total.  Roman Simicek got into his first fight as a member of the Wild and Marian Gaborik got called for high-sticking.  I am going to the game on wednesday, I hope the Wild show up as well.  Columbus lost to Nashville, so that is good for the Wild.  Let's hope that Marian can reach the 20 goal, 40 point plateau sometime soon.  Go Wild!

March 21, 2001 vs Nashville Predators
I have now been to both 0-0 ties in Wild history.  The Man made a good shot in the first period that hit the post, but other than that he seemed to lack energy.  It was actually a very exciting game despite no goal scoring.  There was about three fights and the Wild killed off seven minor penalties.  Marian was hit with a tripping call in the first period.  Just so you all know, young Marian has been called for tripping on 80% of all his penalties.  I finally picked up my Marian jersey from the Wild store at the X.  Goalie Interference was called three times on the Wild.  Brian Bonin played and had about 10 minutes of ice time.  Another call-up, Chris Armstrong, had a chance to end the game in OT, but he fired high of the open net.  The Wild remain ahead of Columbus in the standings.

March 22, 2001 vs Detroit Red Wings
NO RECAP AVAILABLE - Excuse: We were on vacation, Marian got off only one shot and was slapped with a minus 2 rating.

March 25, 2001 vs Vancouver Canucks
NO RECAP AVAILABLE - Excuse: Still on vacation, Marian collected an assist in this game.

March 28, 2001 vs Phoenix Coyotes
NO RECAP AVAILABLE - Excuse: Still on vacation, Marian collected two shots in the Wild loss.

March 31, 2001 vs Nashville Predators
Marian scored a goal in the first period, but the referees decided not to give the Wild a break and nullified the goal.  They claimed that goalie Mike Dunham covered it before Marian scored, but it is kind of hard to claim it was covered when Marian tipped the puck into the net, right?  I guess I am just old fashioned.  The Wild have forgotten how to score lately, they have also forgotten how to play defense and tend their goal.  Don't get me wrong, the Wild have played well, but they just have not gotten anything in the W column for a while.  We stand a good chance of finishing behind Columbus, which is unacceptable.

April 2, 2001 vs
San Jose Sharks
Today is a sad, sad day here at SirMarian.  THE MAN was injured and could not suit up!  He is listed as being unavailible beause of a pulled groin muscle.  Tim and I speculate that Marian over-exerted himself and caused the injury.  I don't know about you but the last time I had a groin injury it occurred in bed and not on the ice.  Yeah you know what I am talking about, same thing happened to young Marian, even though he has a lot more experience than myself.  The Wild continue their unacceptably poor play and are going to be hard pressed to beat Columbus in the standings.  They lost 4-2, newcomer Pascual Dupuis and Wes Walz scored in the first period.

April 4, 2001 vs Edmonton Oilers
Injury, game two.  He may be back to face the Jackets.

April 6, 2001 vs Columbus Blue Jackets
Injury, game three.  It sounds like Marian may miss the rest of the season with his abdominal/groin injury.  At least we beat those BJs huh?  By the way, The Twins, The Timberwolves, and The Wild all won their games today, unbelievable!  Way to go Minnesota.  One more game left in the inaugural season, we will soon no longer have an excuse to be in last place.

April 8, 2001 vs Colorado Avalanche
THE MAN is injured still!  The Wild lost 4-2 to conclude their inaugural season.
