He married Mary Loomans June 17, 1924 in Waupun, Wisconsin. She was born April 10, 1903 in Town of Alto, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, and died May 17, 1984 in Waupun Memorial Hospital, Waupun, Dodge County, Wisconsin. The Waupun Leader Nes-July 10, 1974; Edwin D. Vant hoff, 73, 422 W. Lincoln St., died Wednesday, July 3, at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was born July 16, 1900, in the Town of Trenton, a son of Jacob and Betsie Ten Hoppe Vant Hoff. He married Mary Loomans June 17, 1924, at Waupun. The cuople farmed in the Alto area until retirement in 1963, when they moved to their presented address. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun. Survivors include his widow; four daughter, Mrs. Merle, Mrs. Trayton Greenfield and Mrs. Germanie Navis, all of Waupun; and Mrs. Raymond Vande Berg, Brandon; and 15 grandchildren. Others survivors are three sisters, Mrs. A C. Vande Zande and Mrs. Ralph Henken, both of Waupun; and Mrs. Edward Loomans; Alto; and two brothers, John and James, both of Waupun. He was preceded in death by a daughter and sister. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 6, at Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. James Van Roekel officiated and burial followed in Alto Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Werner-Harmsen. Funeral Home, Waupun, and at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. |

The Leader News-Tues, & Wed., May 22 & 23, 1984; Mrs. Mary Vant Hoff, 81, of 422 W. Lincoln St., Waupun, died May 17, at Waupun Memorial Hospital. She was born April 10, 1903, in the Town of Alto, to Albert and Mary Rennerdik Loomans. She was married to Edwin J. Vant Hoff on June 17, 1924, in Waupun. The couple farmed in Alto, before retiring to Waupun in 1963. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Merle (Evelyn) Navis, Mrs. Trayton (Elaine) Greenfield and Mrs. Germanie (Carol) Navis, all of rural Waupun and Mrs. Raymond (Marcella) Vande Berg of rural Brandon; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in July of 1974, and by a daughter, sister and three brothers. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alto Reformed Church. The Rev. Louis Buytendorp officiated. Burial was in Alto Cemetery. Visitation was held at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. |
