Jacob Vant Hoff, 76, died at 6:30 Sunday morning in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Vande Zande, on the county line road west of Waupun. He had been ill for three months.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Vande Zande home and at 2 p.m. in the Alto Reformed church. The Rev. J. H. Kregel officated. Pallbearers were John Ten Hope, John H. Vande Zande, Ray Vande Zande, Willis Westerveld, Harry Kutgers, and George Vant Hoff. Burial was in the Alto cemetery.
Mr. Vant Hoff was born May 9, 1863 in the Netherlands. He was married to Bessie Ten Hope, who preceded him in death 26 years ago. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. A. C. Vande Zande, Mrs. Ralph Henken , and Mrs. Edward Loomans, all of near Alto; three sons, John, Edward, and James, all of near Alto.
