In the 1800's the earth was clean, and people lived an agricultural life. With the advent of factories in the 1900's, more and more people migrated to the cities in search of jobs. In the mid-1900's Rachel Carson (Silent Spring, 1962) documented that birds were in trouble with reproduction, as levels of pesticides r0se precipitously throughout the developed world. Since 1983, Dr. William Rea, M.D., at the American Environmental Health Foundation (www.aehf.com) has held annual research symposia to explore the impact of environmental toxins on human health. This website presents aspects of 21st Century Living that relate to environmental change and human health.
