Blossoming Atlanta Industry Takes Hit |
| Atlanta Georgia, long known as an international hotbed for professional athletes and pay-by-the-lay exotic dancers, did what it took to attract the most high profile crime family in the history of the universe. For years, cities south of the Mason Dixon, like Birmingham, Little Rock, and Jackson have vied for the attentions, affections and economic boost the Gambinos have provided to many northern communities and Las Vegas. Atlanta is traditionally a weigh station for slut whore degenerates, and the mafia was kind enough to provide some naked girls to entertain them. Between the 1996 Summer Games, the Braves, Hawks, Thrashers, and Falcons, plus the high volume of convention goers the city sees every year, Atlanta has become a hookers’ paradise. Thousands of businessmen and athletes, miles, sometimes oceans from their wives, intoxicated and parading aimlessly through the streets of a city hopelessly engulfed in a conflict between Civil War bitterness and jealousy of Northern industry, have inevitably found comfort in the forgiving arms of high priced holes-in-the-crotch. It didn’t take long for the Gambino family to discover this gold mine of traveling philanderers. The Gold Club, one of the crown jewels of southern fornication and a favorite stop for wandering athletes and businessmen visiting Atlanta, has been shut down and the operators of the sexual Disneyland are being martyred for their cause. John Gotti Jr., already in jail for everything the government couldn’t pin on his father, will be transported to Georgia for the trial. His testimony is expected to reveal how deeply involved his own organization was in the operation of the club. The operators of the Gold Club likely expected excitement, protection, and revenue from the Gambinos. Instead, they got a massive amount of attention from government agents with a hard-on for anything Gotti. Prosecutors are prepared to call a laundry list of pro athletes, members of organized crime and employees of the club. According to the New York Times, the witness list may include Patrick Ewing, Dennis Rodman, Terell Davis, and Jamal Anderson, to name a few. This is the latest in an impressive list of bungles by the Gambinos, prompting many to label the organization “the Bad News Bears of organized crime.” |
| Way to keep your names out of the papers guys. It is a little know fact that the strength of the mafia has always been to find the most high profile endeavors possible and get involved in them. Nothing is too close to the spotlight for “businessmen” who operate completely outside the bounds of the law. The Gambino’s actions made perfect sense to Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, known for his beligerent involvement in his team’s contests. “If I was in the mob I would do the same thing I do now. Except I would fine David Stern when I look stupid on national TV instead of him fining me. Then I would beat him up. Then I would have sex with cheerleaders and prostitutes. And not just the ones I keep in my basement now.” The folks in Atlanta aren’t exactly “in tune” with the goings on of organized crime and asked for a little help from popular culture to guide the initial stages of their case. Also reported in The Times¸ “On Monday, the lawyers began asking potential jurors their opinions about prostitution and the HBO show ‘The Sopranos,’ and Judge Hunt has already suggested that testimony could continue through Labor Day.” Good Lord. The most blatant offense that has been leaked to the press was a 1997 incident in which the owners of the club flew a group of prostitutes from Atlanta to Charleston, SC to put on a “lesbian sex show” and spread their well used legs for an unnamed professional basketball team (thanks again to the NYT). Coincidentally numerous thefts of KY Jelly were reported in the area around the same time. The fathers of the girls involved could not be reached for questioning, because they have all killed themselves. |
