Small Birds That Visit Our Feeders

It looks like this Blue Bird is sitting on the mane of a zebra, when actually it is sitting on top of our basketball goal surveying the yard. If you would like to see where this fellow nests, Click Here to see a QuickTime movie about the Blue Bird.

This Black Capped Chickadee is one of my favorite yard birds. It is the only bird that will let me walk right up to it and take a picture. But it still isn't sure enough of me yet to eat out of my hand.

Darkeyed Juncos love to sit in our Azaleas while waiting for their turn on the bird feeders.

Female Cardinals don't care how many birds are on a feeder. They will fly right in and run the other birds off.

We probably have more of these little sparrows than any other type of bird in our yard. They are constantly on the feeders.

The male Cardinal tends to stay way in the back of our yard when I'm out photographing. It only comes close to the house when I go in. For a good close up, go to my movie and you'll see the cardinal eating at one of our feeders

We have many families of Purple Finches living in and near our yard.

These Tufted Titmouse birds love our feeders, but they only stay on the feeders long enough to get one seed, then they fly off to eat it. Once, I put a whole pile of seed on a table on our deck. This drew the Titmouse and all its friends in so I could get great pictures.

These Wrens like to start their families in our bird houses. Click Here to see a QuickTime movie entitled "Wren's House".

White Throated Sparrows also visit our yard.
