“You owe me, Bass.”
Lance smiled tiredly into the
telephone. “I know, Johnny. I promise you won’t regret this.”
“I had better not. I have enough
trouble with the five of you without this complication.”
Underneath the gruffness in Johnny’s
voice Lance heard the amusement. He knew having four bisexual group members
that were pairing off was not Johnny’s idea of a good time but, nonetheless, he
knew Johnny was happy they had found love. “You won’t. No one will hear a peep
out of us,” Lance assured him. “Just send the email or else they’ll think
something’s up, and I need them in an unsuspecting state or this might not work
the way I’ve planned.”
This time the amusement was clear in
Johnny’s voice. “You know one day, Lance, they’re gonna catch on to how you
maneuver them, and I’m not going to feel the slightest bit sorry for you when
they do.”
“Yeah, yeah. Trust me. This is the
last time I mastermind a matchmaking plot. I feel like I’ve been running a
marathon every day for the past three months.”
Johnny chuckled on the other end. “Now
you know how I feel all the time.” There was a pause and the sound of clicking
keys. “Okay, it’s done. Just remember, I’m holding you responsible for this. Be
careful and don’t get caught. If any of this got out it could seriously damage
your careers not to mention your relationships. They’re still new and fragile,
and I want you guys to have the chance to strengthen them before you go public.
Not that I’m looking forward to that day but I know it’s inevitable.”
The sound of the bus door opening drew
Lance’s attention. “I know. Look, I gotta go. JC’s back.” Lance smiled at JC as
he popped his head into the room and then, seeing that he wasn’t interrupting,
flopped down on the couch. Glancing to the side Lance listened to Johnny’s
reply and then shook his head. Glancing back at JC he winked conspiratorially.
“Uh huh. I promise I’ll be careful…Love you too, Mom. See ya later.” Lance hung
up the phone and tiredly joined JC on the couch. He closed his eyes and leaned
his head back enjoying the peaceful moment.
“Your mom checking on you?”
A yawn escaped Lance’s mouth before he
could catch it. He rolled his head toward JC and smiled sheepishly. “Yeah, she
was calling to make sure I’m sleeping enough and watching out for myself.”
Another yawn worked its way out and Lance laughed. “I think that answered the
sleeping question.” A twinge of guilt pricked his conscience at the lie,
although his statement wasn’t completely untrue. His mom had called and checked
on him before he talked to Johnny.
JC lightly ran his hand along Lance's
shoulder. Even though his touch was light he could feel the tightness of the
muscles underneath his fingertips. “Tired?” At Lance’s nod he turned sideways
and rose up on his knees planning to give what relief and relaxation he could
through massage.
At first Lance was tense but JC
diligently worked the straining muscles until they began to relax a small
amount. Being close enough to touch Lance was making chills of excitement run
through JC’s body, and he had to focus more intently on the task at hand.
Determinedly he kneaded the firm muscles of Lance’s shoulders but couldn’t stop
himself as he drifted into a fantasy about sliding his hands over the same
flesh only naked and in a more loving and erotic manner.
He could just see them in a room lit
by dozens of candles and dominated by a satin covered king-size bed. The light
would cast flickering shadows across the room and bathe everything in a warm
glow. A fire would be roaring in the fireplace and soft music would be playing
faintly in the background. He would lead a blindfolded Lance to the center of
the room and pull him close. As the
seductive strains of a jazz number played they would begin to dance. At first
tentatively learning the feel of each other then more and more fluidly. Hands
would slide everywhere. Under a shirt to caress the skin of a back. Around the
neck to play with the fine hairs. Across the chest to tease a budding nipple.
Down to cup a firm ass. Then murmuring softly into Lance’s ear he would tell
him how beautiful he was. How much he turned him on. How much he loved him.
Each declaration would be punctuated with a kiss to a jaw, the forehead, the
chin, and, finally, he would taste the sweet lips mere centimeters from his
own.
As he plundered the sweet depths of
Lance’s mouth he would slowly move his hands down Lance’s chest unbuttoning all
the buttons he encountered. When all of them were undone he would suck the lush
lower lip of his love between his teeth and nip lightly. Then he would push the
shirt off his shoulders and down his arms as he trailed kisses down the newly
exposed skin. After the shirt had been discarded he would go to work on Lance’s
pants.
Before he could get any further into
his fantasy Lance let out a low groan and tried to move away. “JC, as much as I
appreciate your effort this isn’t working. This isn’t the most comfortable
position for a massage, and this shirt is like a scouring pad. I’m afraid I’m
not going to have any skin left.”
JC let out a frustrated sigh and
pushed Lance forward so he could get up. Maybe he could make a little of his
fantasy come true. “Take your shirt off. I have an idea.”
Lance blinked and watched JC rummage
through a satchel on the table. He had been tired before but now he was afraid
he would fall asleep before JC got back to the couch. Those nimble hands had
almost reduced him to a puddle. That had been the main reason he had called a
halt to the impromptu massage. JC’s hands on his body, impersonal as they had
remained, still caused longing to rush through him like a tidal wave. Fear of
losing his control had prompted him to push JC away before he could actually
lose that control.
“Lose the shirt, babe. It’ll work
better that way.” JC watched as Lance blinked and focused on him. Those
beautiful green eyes had looked about a thousand miles away and JC thought the
bleary look in them was adorable.
“Huh? Oh!” The slightly amused,
adoring gaze in JC’s eyes brought him back to attention. “Really, JC, you don’t
have to do this. I can just go crawl into my bunk and sleep. That’ll take care
of it,” he protested weakly.
JC shook his head. “I know I don’t
have to do this. That’s why I’m doing it. I want to.” He tapped Lance on the
shoulder. “Now lose the shirt or we’ll be here arguing about this at this time
tomorrow morning.”
Lance mumbled through his shirt as he
pulled it over his head, “Pushy.”
JC sat back down on the couch only
this time his back was resting against the arm and he had one leg bent against
the back of the couch. He smiled and winked at Lance who had finished removing
his shirt before patting the cushion in front of him. “Uh huh,” he agreed. “And
you wouldn’t change me even if you could.”
Lance settled down in front of JC with
his back facing him. When JC’s other leg came up to mirror the position of the
other one, Lance hooked his arms around the knees pressing into his sides and
turned his head to grin at JC. “You’re right but you’ll never get me to admit
that.”
“You underestimate my abilities.”
“Nope, you’re just hopefully
optimistic but it ain’t gonna happen.” As he finished speaking JC’s hands came
down on his shoulders. They were warm and slick and they glided smoothly over
his overly sensitized skin. The faint scent of cherry wafted around him as JC
caressingly massaged his shoulders and then ran his hands up his neck to work
the stiff muscles there. Lance let his eyes fall closed as he head lolled to
the side so that JC could have better access to the aching in the left side of
his neck. The insistent pressure was painful yet pleasurable all at the same
time and the combination of the warm hands and intoxicating scent was lulling
him into peaceful surrender.
The pleasing sensations stopped for a
moment as JC squirted more oil into his hands. Then those magical fingers were
back to gently demanding Lance’s tense muscles give up the fight. For his part
Lance was becoming very drowsy. The more JC kneaded the more his resistance
crumbled. His body relaxed until he was practically sprawled on JC’s chest
making the massage more difficult but JC got around that. With his last
conscious thought Lance mused that having JC run his fingers over his chest was
something he could get used to.
JC smiled faintly as Lance’s face
nuzzled into his neck. Putting him to sleep hadn’t been his plan but being able
to hold him while he slept was definitely worth it. For the past few minutes
his touch had stopped being the firm needed for a massage and turned into the
gentle caress of a lover. Lance had been too close to being asleep to notice
the difference, and JC was content to touch the body that starred in his every
fantasy. Now he lightly stroked his hand up Lance’s chest to his neck before
gently cupping his jaw. He placed the lightest of kisses upon his lips then
pulled the blanket off the back of the couch to cover them. He spread it out
and then snuggled down until he and Lance were resting somewhat comfortably.
His last conscious thought was that he could get used to having Lance in his
arms as he drifted off to sleep.
Harsh sunlight streamed in through the
bus windows waking JC from his slumber. He tried to turn over to get away from
its brightness but a warm weight on his chest prevented him from moving.
Cracking his eyes open the bare minimum he was met with Lance’s unruly hair.
For a moment he tried to remember how he had come to be sleeping with the
beautiful blonde. Surely they hadn’t done it on…on…the couch? Memories flooded
back, and JC smiled at the events of last night. He’d have to remember that
with a little almond oil and bare skin he could get Lance into bed with him. A
small laugh worked its way out of his chest. Lance was definitely a mood
enhancer. This was the first time he had woken up happy in a very long time.
Lightly, so as not to awaken Lance, he
placed a kiss on his forehead and snuggled closer. Resting his eyes he allowed
the small puffs of breath against his neck and the steady, reassuring beat of
Lance’s heart lull him back into the bliss of the dream world.
The steady click of keys being
depressed woke JC. He rolled over onto his back and looked at the ceiling. This
time there was no warm body holding him down. Sleepily he yanked the blanket
off of himself and threw his legs over the side of the couch. A glance around
the room confirmed that the infernal clicking sound was coming from Lance and
his laptop.
Sighing he ran his fingers through his
already unruly locks and stood. Spanning the five feet to where Lance sat only
took a second, and he did it hurriedly. With a heavy groan he plopped down on
the bench next to Lance and laid his head on the now shirt covered shoulder.
“Whatcha doin’?” he said through a yawn.
“Knitting a sweater,” Lance said in
all seriousness as he continued to peck away at the keys.
“It’s too early in the morning for you
to get smart with me,” JC grumbled as he read the message on screen that Lance
was replying to. A confused wrinkled appeared on his forehead. “Scroll down. I
want to read the rest of that.” He read the end of the message and was even
more confused. “What the hell is that all about?”
Lance finished his reply and hit send.
This was the hardest part of his whole plan. Lying to the face of the man he
loved went against every fiber in his being but he reminded himself that it
would bring them closer together and help out a couple of other friends
as well. “Apparently Johnny thinks we need more group cohesion.” Lance scoffed.
“Like we don’t spend enough time together as it is. But, anyway, he’s ordered
us to participate in ‘group bonding’ for the next five nights.” He signed out
of his email and then shut down the laptop. A nudge from his thigh got JC
moving so that he could get up. He grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge
and took a healthy swallow before continuing. “That was the third email I’ve
exchanged with him this morning. He won’t back down. It looks like for the next
five nights we have to have a different roommate each night, and we
can’t go out. We have to stay in and ‘bond’ with our roommate.” Surreptitiously
he watched for JC’s response. Seeing as how, more often than not lately, they
had been falling asleep together, JC should show some sign of distress at the
news. At least Lance hoped he did because only God knew how hard it was going
to be for him to get to sleep without JC there quietly talking to him as
he drifted off.
The snort JC let out wasn’t exactly
what he had expected. “Bonding! Evidently Johnny has no clue
about the members of this group if he thinks we need more together time. I mean
Justin and Joey privately practice the horizontal mambo, and Chris makes sure
they don’t get caught. I live in your house, and we share the
busses. It’s not like we never see each other.”
“In his defense, Jace, he knows we
spend a lot of time together but he doesn’t feel that it’s quality time. He
said that just because we’re always together doesn’t necessarily mean we’re
still close. He thinks we’re only going through the motions and our brotherly
feelings are slowly dying.” Lance groaned inwardly at the last bit he said. He
wanted to cover his eyes and accuse himself of over acting. That last bit had
been laying it on a little thick but in essence it was true. Brotherly was the
last word that came to mind when describing his feelings for JC, and he was
pretty sure Chris was the only one of them left that still had ‘brotherly’
feelings and nothing else for the other members of the group.
A smirk crossed Lance’s face as he drove
in the last nail that would get JC to cooperate in playing musical rooms.
“Besides, you have to admit we don’t exactly broadcast our, uh, aforementioned
idiosyncrasies. Johnny probably thinks you’re just pretending to be a hermit
again and staying with me for a while. It’s only been a month since you
officially moved in. And Justin and Joey,” Lance shook his head. That was one
situation he was determined to resolve during his bonding time with Little J
and Joe, “are just messed up. I don’t think even they are sure whether
they’re coming or going.” The face JC made caused Lance to laugh out loud. Pure
disgust that he was right etched JC’s entire face. “JC, if you keep making that
face it’s gonna stick that way.”
JC’s answer was to stick his tongue
out at him as he sat down on the couch.
Lance just smiled and continued to
badger JC into the plan. “Let’s face it; we have more to hide now than we ever
had before. As accepting as our fans are I don’t think they’re ready to find
out that four out of five of us are bisexual. So let’s humor Johnny for the
next week and then everything will go back to normal and we can say we know
each other better.”
JC mumbled something under his breath
that sounded suspiciously like, “I was just beginning to enjoy things the way
they were.” Happiness infiltrated Lance’s heart. He knew he hadn’t been wrong
about JC getting upset. It had just been hidden better than he expected.
Giddily he thought that maybe soon they could end this little charade and get
on with the business of loving each other.
Beforehand though one more crisis had
to be averted. “Have you noticed the way Justin and Joey act?” JC’s words
brought Lance’s eyes quickly up to focus on him. “I swear you would think they
aren’t even together. They act like they’re still in the ‘Oh, I’ve got a crush
on him, and I hope he’ll ask me out’ stage. They keep shooting these looks at
each other when they think the other one isn’t looking.” He draped his arm
around Lance’s shoulder and leaned in close as Lance sat down beside him. “I
seriously hope I never get caught in the crossfire ‘cause the heat in those
looks is positively scorching. And, damn, but the sexual tension that radiates
from them is enough to make me run off to find, …uh, uh,” JC slowed down as he
realized what he was about to reveal. Somehow he didn’t think Lance would like
to hear how being around Justin and Joey made him want to hunt him down and
find the nearest flat surface so he could have his wicked way with him.
“Find what, Jace?” Lance questioned
innocently. He had a pretty good idea what JC was thinking. The sexual tension
between Justin and Joey often caused his urge to get laid to rear its head.
Only the tight rein he kept on his body allowed him to make it through each day
without throwing caution to the wind and jumping JC.
“Uh, well, a cold shower. Yeah,
yeah…they make me need to take a cold shower.”
Lance nearly laughed out loud. He
would give it to JC. He could come up with good saves. Idly Lance wondered if
JC could come up with something for every situation. He decided to test him.
“Soooo, Justin and Joey turn you on,” he tried to look uncomfortable all the
while keeping the grin off his face. Hesitantly he looked up into the eyes that
were so close to his own and offered a suggestion he knew his gorgeous brunette
would never take, “I bet if you asked they’d let you join them. I mean…if
you’re into that kind of thing. I know Joey always said he wanted to try a
threesome.”
The look on JC’s face was priceless.
The tantalizing mouth he fantasized about dropped open and his beautiful blue
eyes widened until they nearly popped out of his head. Lance watched as he
frantically snapped his mouth shut and tried to backpedal out of this hole. “I
never…I mean…ick! Justin and Joey. I mean ewwww! I wouldn’t sleep
with them if you paid me. That’s like…like incest or something. I mean they’re
like my brothers.”
By this point Lance was laughing so
hard his sides hurt. At least there was one question JC didn’t have a witty
answer for. The look on JC’s face was too much to resist and with laughter
sparkling in his eyes he grabbed JC’s chin sealed their lips together. He only
allowed himself a moment to savor the sweetness of JC’s kiss before he pulled
away. Even that small touch was enough to set him on fire, and he needed to get
his mind back on the matter at hand. Still laughing he assured JC, “I was only
playing with you, man, but it is good to know you don’t lust after Justin’s hot
body or Joey’s captivating personality. I just might have to kill you if you did.
Having a duo is okay but a trio kinda wigs me out.”
“One of these days, Lance. One of
these days I’m going to beat you so hard your parents are going to feel it.”
Lance stuck his tongue out at JC. “No,
you won’t and you know it. If you hurt me you loose your kissing partner and no
one else on this planet is gonna help your sorry ass practice kissing a guy. So
there!”
JC tackled Lance onto his back and,
for the second time in ten minutes, felt Lance’s lips pressed against his own.
He proceeded to demonstrate his considerable kissing talent as Lance wriggled
underneath him. The taste of Lance’s lips and the feel of his body intoxicated
JC almost to the point where he forgot what he was doing. Reluctantly he pulled
away from Lance and grinned down at him. “I think I’ve learned a lot don’t
you?” He watched as Lance mutely shook his head yes. “So, conceivably, if I got
rid of you I could get a boyfriend.”
Lance narrowed his eyes and shifted
slightly under JC. He froze when he felt JC’s hardness pressing against his
thigh. Slowly a smile spread across his face. Capturing JC’s lips in one more
searing kiss, he moved his hands down to cup his ass. He pulled his head back
and noted the dazed look in JC’s eyes before grinding their hips together.
Seductively he murmured, “You could get rid of me but…I think you’d miss making
out with me.” JC’s eyes went wide and Lance pushed him off of him.
“Lance, I-“
Lance laid a finger against JC’s kiss
swollen lips. “Don’t say it. It turns me on too. Let’s leave it at that.”
Calmly Lance sat back against the couch belying the emotions raging through his
body. Primly he folded his hands on his lap and looked at JC. “I think we
should tell them about us being bi. I know Joey and Chris already know that I
am but I want to announce it officially so that there is no misunderstanding or
crossed wires. It’s time to be honest and this is the perfect opportunity. What
do you think?”
JC sighed. He would follow Lance to
the ends of the earth. “I think you’re right. Let’s tell them.” A thought
crossed his mind and he smiled. “Maybe then Jus and Joe will come clean. I
can’t believe they think we have no idea about them.”
Lance laughed. This was going to be a
very interesting week.
