Ekta is a M.Sc.Ed.(Chemistry) from the Regional Insitute of Education , Mysore and did her MBA from IMDR Pune in Human Resources. Before her MBA , Ekta was a Lecturer of Chemistry for graduate students in Shadan Degree College, Hyderabad.
After her MBA, Ekta has handled HR Operations of two software companies in Hyderabad. She was also involved in working freelance with a developmental consultancy called Thinksoft Consultants.
Ekta's areas of interests are Human Resources, Organizational Culture, Organizational Development and Learning & Training.
She is also a Hindustani Classical Vocalist and loves melodious music.
She thinks Hyderabad is the best city in the world :-)
Ekta is quite a polyglot, and can speak, apart from English and Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi. Punjabi and even knows a bit of German.
Ekta's family roots are in the North of India. Her paternal family comes from Rohtak, Haryana while her maternal family originated in Moga, Punjab. Her family then moved to Kenya and currently they are all over the world, from England, to Norway.
Ekta's father, Satish Kumar Gupta, worked with ECIL in Hyderabad. ECIL is the commercial arm of the Department of Atomic Energy. Her mother, Kamla Gupta is a retired teacher from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and is very active on the Lions Club circuit.
Ekta's elder brother , Ravi Gupta, is from the Indian Air Force. His wife is Jaya and they have a lovely baby boy called Ashman. Ravi was earlier an ERP Consultant with BaaN and Vanenburg in Hyderabad. They currently live in Mumbai. Ravi now works for Prudential after a stint with United Health Care.
Ekta's sister, Misha is a housewife, having earlier worked with SEBI and HPCL in the IT departments. Her husband, Shishir is with the Indian Navy and they live alogn with their two sons, Varun , 7 and Aryan , 2, in Cochin, Kerala.
