                      Band History:
The Refractions was formally "The Jackalopes" in 2001. Durring the school year of 2001, Steven Barako played drums for the band, and TJ Schmit played keyboard. They left the band in the summer of 2002. Then Kyle Smarsh played drums for the next year. Due to schedule issues and musical differences, Kyle was kicked out of the band in December '03. For a short while, Peter, Andrew, and Caton were drummerless. In February, Jacob Godman joined the band in all his awesomeness. Then in early April, after the Lions Club Talent Show, Meg Alder crossed paths with the band. Caton invited her to join the band very soon after. Thus the current line up. The band was renamed to 'Bicentennial Assortment" to make the band seem more serious about music.  After about two weeks of that, we decided to rename..yet again. After long discussion into hours of the morning, we decided at "The Refractions."
Our Sound
Our music is a mixture of blues, classic rock, and psychedelic rock. We play covers of music ranging from '50s all the way to the current day music (skipping the '80s and any pop or rap music).
