BECAME A BLUE JAY: Selected first round (17th overall) June 1995 free agent draft On September 27th, 1998 at the Skydome, one out and then a pinch home run by Bobby Higginson was the hit that broke Roy's chance to pitch a no-hitter in his second ML game-but it was his first ML win. Roy began in the Jay's bullpen in 1999, but he was added to the rotation with injury to Joey Hamilton. Roy pitched his second complete game and became the second youngest Jay to toss a shutout (7-0) vs. the Detroit Tigers at the Skydome on May 20th, 1999. |
