The PINDI PERUNAL is an annual event held on the Sunday on or after the 13th day following Christmas. Each house sets up a PINDI (shown in the picture) and there is even a local competition for the best PINDI that is created. Creating a pindi is a matter of pride for a family and the prestige rather than the prize money forms the motivation to make the best Pindi. Christian Houses are illuminated with lights, as are the churches. St George is remembered on this occassion.
