Jay Chou - Zhou Jie Lun

Zhou Jie Lun (Jay Chou/Chow) is the hottest starts in the Taiwanese music industry right now. His unique blend of R&B and Hip Hop sounds diverge him away from his fellow competitors. At the young age of 23, Jay has done in 2 years what some people haven't done in a lifetime. Jay was discovered by famous Taiwanese singer/manager/entertainer Jacky Wu (Wu Zhong Xien). Jay composes all of the music on all of his albums, and writes the lyrics for two songs per album. His partner in crime is the famous Taiwanese lyricist, (Vincent) Feng Wen San. He writes more than half the lyrics in each of Jay's three albums. Another song writer for Jay was the popular soft-core porn starlet Vivian Hsu. Somehow, I always thought that the few songs that Vivian wrote on each album were Jay's best. Jay knows how to play the piano, the cello, the guitar, and the drums, therefore making his musical potential endless. He loves playing basketball in his off time and likes to stay at the piano and compose songs. Jay has won numerous awards already, including three grabs at the Chinese Golden Melody Awards (the Taiwan equivalent of the Grammys). He won best producer for Fantasy, best album for Fantasy, and best composer for the title track Ai Zai Xi Yuan Chien (Love Before BC). I hope Jay continues to succeed with his music and insipre people (including myself) to be ambitious about their goals. Jay Chou is my idol.
