| Westlife, the pop sensation that is sweeping Europse off its feet. This quintet, in a short 3 years, has established themselves as pop icons in all of Europe. The group's focus on ballads and slow songs now has led many critics skeptical about the band's future. Nonetheless, the band continues to do what they do best, and that's to sing pop related songs. Westlife has already set an UK record for having 8 number 1 hits on the UK charts. Unfortunately, the boy's success does not seem to carry overseas. Their only US release, the single "Swear it Again", did not make it past the #20 spot on the Billboard Charts. But, the boys wish to give it another shot as they are coming to the US to promote World of Our Own in the late summer. All in all, big things still lay ahead for these 5 talented Irish lads. FYI: Westlife's original name was suppose to be Westside, in honor of Shane, Kian, and Mark's hometown in Ireland. However, they found out that the name was already taken so they changed it to Westlife. Also, Kian, Mark and Shane were the original memebers of the group. MEMBERS: Mark Feehily (Vocalist), Kian Egan, Nicholas Bryne, Bryan McFadden (Vocalist), and Shane Filan (Lead Vocalist).
