Off the Wall Theater presents:

" Agnes of God " directed by Maggie Balsley

With Erika Cuenca as Agnes Ingrid Sonnichsen as Mother Superior Virginia Wall Gruenert as Dr. Livingstone

Dr. Martha Livingstone is a psychiatrist who is called in as part of the investigation when a dead infant is found at a convent. The child is found to belong to solemn, naive Sister Agnes, who offers little information about who the father is, or why (or if) she committed the crime. The Mother Superior is willing to help in the investigation any way she can, but when the idea of a virgin birth is suggested, the agnostic Dr. Livingstone finds herself in a heated dialogue pitting faith against science and asking the question: Do miracles really happen?

levinemusic Fall '09 preview...

Greetings to all my music-loving friends,

You may still be wistful for summer, but at levinemusic, we're charging ahead with a full fall calendar. Please join us at our upcoming events:

October 1, 8PM Off the Record IX: High School Confidential! Byham Theater www.offtherecordpgh.com

I'll be musical directing and sitting at the keyboard for this satiric look at 'burg politics, personalities and culture. The show benefits the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

October 10, 8PM All Judy, All Heart Carnegie Free Library Music Hall in Carnegie www.carnegiecarnegie.com

Contralto and local treasure Daphne Alderson in the premier performance of her loving tribute to Judy Garland. I lead a band featuring the talents of John Marcinizyn, guitar, Jeff Mangone, bass, and Al Wrublesky, drums. This event benefits the newly refurbished Music Hall, which boasts the best acoustics in the city.

On this night I have the distinct honor of a musical double-play! While I'm performing with Daphne, Thomas Douglas leads a 7-piece band, Broadway star Kelli O'Hara and a talented local ensemble performing my musical arrangements at the 25th Annual Gala of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust at the Benedum Theatre. Nearly sold out, but tickets still available at 412-471-1497.

October 17, 7:30PM Divas Live! Mainstage Theater, Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, Midland PA www.lppac.org

I'm joined by a stellar band: Eric DeFade, woodwinds, Paul Thompson, bass, and R.J. Heid, percussion as we back up four local talents: Alexandra Cherico, Nanette Corradi, Daphne Alderson and Carla Bianco. Pittsburgh jazz diva Etta Cox takes the stage the second half of the evening. This event, for which I'm music directing and arranging, benefits the Women's Center of Beaver County.

October 19, 8PM Douglas Levine and Friends Rodef Shalom Synagogue, Fifth Avenue @ Morewood

Please join me for a special evening of original compositions and arrangements. The incredible local talent includes Jeff Grubbs, bass, R.J. Heid, percussion, Mary Beth Malek, clarinet, vocalists Tania Grubbs and Daphne Alderson, and me on piano. This event is FREE! And--I already checked--the Steelers are not playing.

December 3 - 20 Jane Eyre Charity Randall Theater www.picttheatre.org

I'm thrilled to return to Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre with an original score performed live for this sparkling adaptation of a literary classic.

That's all, folks. Hope to see you at an event or two! Please come by and say hello.

Yours, Douglas
