This is a test piece of a character called Ja'Laar from GI Studios "Rift" comic book. If the figure was standing up straight, it would be 15" tall. It is made from a wire armature covered in sculpey to make the "bones". The bones are placed so the wire is exposed at the knees, elbows, shoulders, etc. The armature is then baked with just the bones on it. The bones become rock hard and now the armature is fully posable. Then the muscles and skin are added over the bones. You can see the "bone" of the arm sticking out of his left wrist on the second photo.
