In correlation with the book, "Ira Sleeps Over", we have our own annual "sleepover". After lunch, we dress in our pj's, turn the lights out, jump into our sleeping bags, have a pillow fight, tell ghost stories and have a great time bonding together!
During our alphabet review of the letter "M", we have a special breakfast get-together with our Moms before school. The children love to have this extra time to spend with Mom at school, and it gives the Moms a chance to visit and see what's going on in the classroom.
Breakfast with the Dads is always a big hit! We love having them come to school for donuts and coffee! Sharing this special time with Dad is a highlight of the year!
50th Day of School
We celebrated the 50th Day of School in style!! We had hula hoop contests, danced to rock and roll music, and drank root beer floats for snack! We were too cool for school!!
We dress up as if we are "100 years old" and do activities all day long that have to do with "100". It is a fun day for all!
Each year, the da Vinci School has a school-wide Pageant. The theme varies from year to year. Each class prepares a song and dance routine to correspond with the theme. It is a wonderful experience for everyone!
The Kindergarten class puts on a Science Fair each spring. They work on their projects at home and bring them to school to share their findings. They enjoy being "Scientists of the Day" and are really able to practice their public speaking skills as they present their project several times throughout the day. It is a proud day for Kindergarten.
Each May, the Kindergarten class graduates from da Vinci. It is a special time for the families, as many of these children have been here for several years. Kindergarten graduates attend first grade at a variety of private or public schools.
