| This is the last Gillig coach owned by Shelton SD. It was once a part of an almost exclusive Gillig fleet here, until SSD retired most of their Gilligs over the last five or so years. This Gillig is powered by a Caterpillar3208 and a Spicer five-speed transmission. This bus was first powered by a Cummins V555 until it was repowered with the CAT. This bus is a 1979 Gillig, and has to be one of the best Gilligs I've seen. I even rode this bus once! The model number of this bus is VT555D-13, passenger capacity is 78, the serial number for this bus is E-3171 and the date of manufacture is 3/14/1979. |

| This is an EXTREMELY RARE tandem-axle Gillig with a rear-engine configuration. This Gillig has since been retired from Poway USD, and is powered by a CAT3208 and a FullerRoadranger RT910 10 speed. This bus has a passenger capacity of 91 passengers unlike other Gillig Tandems which have a max. limit of 97 because of the engine location. |

| Cabrillo Unified School District bus #7 (CA) |
| This Gillig is the saddest photo of any Gillig I have seen yet. This was taken at the Cabrillo USD bus yard in 2000, and shows the death of a Gillig. The lower window on the forward flap of the door is covered by a piece of plywood, having been broken prior to photo being taken, and the driver's side headlamps are completely broken and the chrome headlight rings are missing completely. The fortunate thing about this Gillig was that it RAN, and it ran great from what I have been told. Sadly though, the bus was used for parts, and is probably the new Subaru that you are driving. How sad.... |
