One Warm Coat
Looking for a service project that is different and will provide an opportunity for your girls to really make an impact on someone's life? Consider participating in the One Warm Coat Project. The goal of this project is to provide any person with a warm coat, free of charge. Fulfilling this simple, yet vital, need helps people live productive lives year round. Your troop can participate in this noble effort by holding a coat drive in your local community and giving the coats to a local agency.
One Warm Coat was begun in 1992 in San Francisco, CA, by Lois Lavlow. Since its inception, more than 75,000 coats have been provided to those in need at no cost. To learn more about how to initiate this service project, log on to www.onewarmcoat.org and download the activity guide.
The Pocket Flag Project
This is a great service project for troops. Go to www.pocketflagproject.com for more information on this project.
