The Alt.Fashion Faq
This FAQ is written as a prelude to the USENET newsgroup
alt.fashion. It includes consistently updated information, most of which was
suggested or provided by the users of the newsgroup alt.fashion.
Many professionals in the fashion industry have included their input as well as
individuals who have offered their knowledge from trial-and-error. It is meant
to cover both basic and specific information about cosmetics (hair, skincare,
and makeup), style, clothing, and assorted aspects of the fashion industry.
Information from outside sources is noted as such.
Every attempt has been made to provide neutral, unbiased information. Most
information generally available concerning products of the fashion industry is
geared toward selling. Our intention is to get past the hype and determine what
products really work, what clothes are really worth buying, etc. with no hidden
agenda! With these bases covered, the fashionability can be addressed and true
style can emerge.
Before posting, you are encouraged to read the contents of this FAQ. As fashion
is ever-changing, it is understandable that certain questions will arise
repeatedly, but lots of basic information is contained within this site.
