The Greater Los Angeles Council of Divers (G.L.A.C.D.) is one of four Councils of Divers organized to represent the recreational diving community of the state of California on issues such as education, saftey, access, legistlation, conservation, and competitve events. GLACD represents the sport diving community of Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

Four Councils of Divers comprise the Conference of California Councils, which meets semi-annually to discuss strategies and action plans that address regional and state issues concerning the California diving community.

GLACD is a nonprofit organization comprised of and supported by the recreational diving community. Staffed by volunteers, GLACD has represented sport divers for over 35 years.

GLACD serves to educate sport divers, to make diving safer, to conserve our ocean resources and safeguard access to dive sites, to promote healthy competition in diving, and to communicate with various legislative agencies.

GLACD strives to provide a common communication link in the greater Los Angeles area between all elements of the sport diving community including divers, dive shops and clubs, equipment
manufacturers and repair shops, certification agencies, and the  government and regulatory agencies
