The Stone Age People

My daddy my cousins, my auntie and my other auntie took me to Glenariff Forest Park. We had a lot of fun. We looked at all the cool waterfalls. We walked around and I got a piggy back ride with my cousin Sean. David, Sean and I saw a little lane so we walked down it. Sean tripped on a piece of animal skin and stood back up. We all saw a huge cave so we went into it. There was lots of animal skin. There were bows and arrows. I screamed and Sean covered my mouth and told me to shut up. Then we saw a Stone Age child. Her clothes were made out of animal skin. It was short sleeved and stitched at the shoulder. It looked like a tunic and reached down to her knees. Her hair was as tatty and dirty as a lamb’s tail. She stared at us in amazement. I said what is your name? She made a weird face as if she didn’t know what I said. Sean was carrying our lunch and David was playing his Game Boy. The little girl tried to demonstrate her name. Finally she said me name Holly. I said my name is Katie and these are my cousins Sean and David. Holly snatched the Game Boy from him. David said what is she doing taking my Game Boy away from me? I said she is a Stone Age child what do you expect Miss Penelope Barbie. The girl said you come my hut. We all said ok and we followed to a little village with strange houses. We saw a man making fire and a lady sharpening a spear. David’s mouth was wide open. Sean’s eyes looked like they had never blinked. I was saying in my head ooh my lord over and over and over again. The girl said way this so we followed her. Finally we were at her hut. Her mum offered Sean, David and me some new clothes so we said yes in case we hurt their feelings. We went into their hut. Then we got berries and fish to eat but they were horrible so I threw them away and pretended to eat them. David went outside and was sick. Sean went outside to check on him and David said that he wanted to go home. I went out and said we can’t go home because the wee girl will cry. Afterwards we went to collect berries. The girl said that it was the best berry picking that she ever had. When we got back to the camp we taught the other children how to play chasies. It was getting dark so the boys said that we had to go home. We changed our clothes and put the skin ones in Sean’s backpack. When we got home we thought it was a dream but when we opened the backpack they were there. I screamed because I realised that it was REAL!
