Lyar
Once Lyar had readied the branch she lay on her stomach and peered out from behind a branch to see a watch wher pack. It was mostly blues and greens with a brown or two but to Lyar they were whers for she was colorblind. She gave a soft whistle and out bounded Dane snarling and snapping at the pack, the size of the canine was enough to send the pack running. He bounded in front of them and chased them to the right; Lyar cut the rope holding the rigged branch. The branch snapped up sending thorns at the passing whers, each wher was hit with a thorn and they continued to run. Lyar stood up and watched as one by one the whers fell to the ground, she walked up to each of them and pulled out the thorn. The sleeping potion in the thorns were well in the whers so it was useless to keep the thorns, she snapped them in half and tossed them away before Dane walked to her side. When the canine stood on his hind legs he would become taller than Lyar herself. Lyar walking into a group of shrubs and pulled out a runnerbeast driven cart, she gently laid each wher in the back before she hooked herself and Dane into the straps that was supposed to hold a runnerbeast. When they were strapped in the two broke out into a run, this was basic training for the two.
Soon they reached their destination, they stopped running and Lyar slipped out of the straps and approached a pacing man. "I have your whers,” said Lyar softly, he jumped slightly then turned around to face her.
"Good, my customers were beginning to wonder" replied the man as he approached the cart, as he approached Dane stood up and gave a deep growl.
"Down" said Lyar as Dane stopped growling, the man pointed at the whers and several boys came to the cart. They were about Lyar's age, she watched as they unloaded the whers and took them into the watch wher den. "All right I got you your whers, now where is my promised firelizard?" asked Lyar.
"Right, follow me,” answered the man as he walked into the den.

her shoulder.
"Well I guess you're with me now, but I think you need a name. I think Kese will work,” said Lyar as she stroked the flit, she stood up and walked out of the room and then out of the den.
"I see you you've completed your assignment" said a voice from her cart.
"Do I have a new one for me? By the way Deme I'm running a bit low on thorns" said Lyar as she walked to her cart.
"The thorns are in the cart, your assignment is to catch the wher with one eye,” said Deme, Lyar snapped around and shoved him hard against the cart.
"You know that wher will kill me, he's had it in from me since our last meeting" said Lyar as she let go of Deme.
"That's why we need you to catch him, several guys overheard me talking to someone about the wher and their are will to pay very handsomely" said Deme as he patted his pocket.
"I will not catch him,” said Lyar sternly.
"But you half to, I've already entered him in the wher fights and if I don't show up with him..." replied Deme as he ran his finger over his throat.
"Well that's not my problem, now is it?" asked Lyar.
"Look if you get him for me I'll...I'll...I'll give you a chance to be a candidate at Ryslen Red winter flurry" said Deme.
"Had I not want to be a dragonrider I would of just ignored what you said but I can't...so I'll go catch him,” replied Lyar.
"Thank you, you've saved my hide,” said Deme as he gave a small leap before Dane snarled at him.
"Where was the last area the wher was spotted?" asked Lyar.
"Dane, guard cart" said Lyar as she followed the man into the den. As they entered Lyar saw the boys putting the collars on the whers, he led her into a room with a pot in the middle of it.
"The meat is next to it, the egg is due to hatch any time now" said the man as he walked out. Lyar knelt by the egg and brushed a bit off the sand off of it, suddenly the egg began to rock. The egg split in half and out fell a dark colored flit with spotted wings, Lyar was unable to tell its true color but from its dark hide she guessed that it was a brown or black. Lyar quickly fed the flit the near by meat. The dark hatching ate quickly till its belly buldged, it gave a soft chirp before it flew to
"There are maps in the cart next to the thorns and potions, the red on the map means-" started Deme but Lyar cut in.
"I'll figure it out, I always do. Now its time for the part you hate and the part that I love...I want my credits,” said Lyar.
"You were promised a flit not credits,” replied Deme.
"Dane bite" shouted Lyar as the large canine leapt from the straps and lunged at Deme. The man ducked but the canine still bite him, Dane had bitten him in the sleeve of his vest and had now dragged him to the ground. "Sit" said Lyar; Dane sat down on Deme's chest while he still had the sleeve in his mouth. Lyar knelt down and rummaged through his vest till she found his leather pouch full of credits, she stood up and slipped the pouch in to boot. "Dane, let go, come,” said Lyar as the canine let go of the sleeve and stepped off of Deme and walked to Lyar. "We'll be going now,” said Lyar as she strapped the canine in and climbed to the top of the cart, she flicked the reigns and Dane was off.
