A Radical new approach to a problem every miner knows. This is one of those ideas that comes along every so often that makes you say, "Why didn't I think of that?" Although simple in appearance, it is a scaled-down version of a very large system built for a major Mexico Mining Corporation some years ago, and incorporates a variety of devices and techniques that optimize the recovery of that elusive "float gold" that slips past the gravity tables and sluices most are familiar with as recreational miners. This unit is constructed of first-quality parts, designed for years of trouble-free operation with reasonable care, weighs less than 20 lbs, in it's own "tote" container, small enough to go as baggage on an airplane, and the 18" x 18" x 24" box rides well in pickup or RV, has no moving parts to wear out, and easy-to-change filters. This sytem can recover any gold or precious metal particle from 50 to 1 micron, with a range of filtration that removes big sediments and recovers gold by oxygen bonding to the gold, and then to the special spun-poly filters. This range of particles is for recovery from sluices, dredge waters, rivers and other gold bearing waters. If you are trying to recover "Colloidal" gold, common in still and flooded gold mines, geothermal and other wells near gold-bearing areas, the unit and operation is the same, but the filters will be specialized hard carbon, which are effective at that range, below 1,000 angstrom (below 1 micron) Either way, for a modest amount, you can use this small unit to verify what you already suspect, that a lot of gold is drifting away from your hard work, and can be recovered. Filters are re-usable many times with reasonable care, and leached of their gold with our own version of "Home-made" Halox, which is made from common household chemicals, available at any larger hardware store or discount mart. Filters are removed from the unit when full, soaked in the Halox leach overnight to dissolve the gold, then after neutralization, the gold is precipitated with zinc or your favorite precipitant. This produces .999 fine gold and ready to smelt. The range of uses include recovering gold from rivers as well as existing operations, and is meant as an addition to whatever you are doing to mine or prospect now. We have over 100's of units around the world at present, with many recovering 5 cents to $4.00 a gallon from varying water scources. This is not mumbo-jumbo, a magic "miracle" device, nor does it invent gold where there is none. Common sense and a simple test of the waters will tell you if it is worth trying to recover gold . (see the Carbon Recovery section elsewhere in the website) This is a test unit , and can be ordered as seen above , ready to run. If it produces well enough for you, we also have larger units with more bells and whistles, or can design a good system to match your off-table waters or streamside setup. Keep in mind you will need a small gas or electric sump pump to run the filtration unit. For the Poly filter system, it can run 5 lbs to 65 lbs, depending on your wishes. If running carbon filtration, the slower you run, the better, ideal for re-running your sluiced waters, etc. that have been impounded in a pond or tank. All units can be run in parallel, up to the capacity of your pump. As a note, unless you are running in crystal clear waters, the first filter is dedicated to sediment collection, with the remaining ones for the metals. When leaching, the gold and other metals will go into solution, and precipitate back with the precipitant, like zinc, oxalic acid, sodium nitrite, hydrazine or butyl diglyme, depending on preferences or experience. |
