| Thrivent Financial for Lutherans provides grant Zumbrota, MN (April 22, 2004) -- Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has provided a gift of $10,000 to help Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity volunteers build a home for a neighbor in need in Zumbrota, as part of their "Building Homes... Building Hope" program. Throughout the years, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and its predecessor organizations, Appleton, Wis.-based Aid Association for Lutherans and Minneapolis-based Lutheran Brotherhood, have provided approximately $10 million to help build nearly 500 Habitat for Humanity homes. The organization will fund its 500th Habitat home during the 2004 calendar year. “The generosity of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will allow concerned members of the community help build not only a home, but a better life, for one of their neighbors,” said Jane Vinger, director of the local project. |

| The Mollenhauer groundbreaking took place on Sunday, May 16, 2004 in Zumbrota. Over fifty friends, volunteers, supporters and family members joined the Sara Mollenhauer family on May 16, 2004 to break ground on her Habitat for Humanity house, which will be funded by generous grants from several organizations and individuals, including Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, a memorial gift from James Law honoring the life and work of Norma Matchan Law, and the Zumbrota Community Foundation. “We would just like to thank Habitat for Humanity, the communities of Zumbrota and Goodhue for all the hard work yet to come,” Mollenhauer said. “I would like to thank my family and friends for their never ending support and especially the Lord for he has truly blessed us this past year with not only this house by many other things.” |

| Volunteer at the Mollenhauer project! Volunteers are always needed on the jobsite! Please look at the schedule, and call the office to sign up your church congregation, civic group, family, or friends! Individual volunteers are welcome too. Workdays are Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays. Please bring a pencil, tape measure, hammer, and a pair of gloves. |
