| The information for this site is a collection of data from the Bureau of Labor See where you are in your state and what other states are paying for workers in your field. Before you take the jump check out the state and local taxes to see if your increase in wage is not swallowed up tax increases and cost of living increases. I am working on total tax burdens by state and even down to the county levels. This is a very large task to assemble the data and find the percent of taxes taken from income and the rate of growth or taxes for each County and Cities within those Counties. The income you make is not what you go home with after taxes even then sales and other taxes take more of your income and your effective hourly wage is reduced. This is annual wage data for the years 2000 and 2001 Wage analysis by state and U.S. averages. Check out this page and find your state and check the U.S. Average see how you compair. | I have updated this data base file to 2001 data with a few estimates. 1> The first column tells the amount of total taxes taken for each new dollar of earnings. 2> Federal taxes 3> State Tax rates 4> County, City and Schools are all estimated. If anyone wants to help get local data for the Counties, Cities and Schools I'll be glad to up date my estimate by county. 5> The Total tax burden is the sum of Federal, State, County, City, Schools, but does not include mandates of governments. 6> The last number is the change in the linear projection of taxes from 2001 to 2050 divided by the change in the linear projection of Gross Personal Income 2001 to 2050. This assums the total tax burden continues to grow at the same rate. Email me if you have questions or data. |
