Here are some pics of the turn around season:

First there was the New Mexico State shut out. Here you see Andrew Pinnock scoring the FIRST GAMECOCK TD of the turnaround season.

This win against NMU broke the 21-game losing streak. Here's the fan's reaction:

Then there was the first SEC win against Eastern Divison foe Georgia! Here you have Running Back stud Derek Watson running in the game winning TD!

After that was an out of conference win against Eastern Michigan. Here you see Derek Watson doing what he did all season... RUN!

One of our biggest wins of the season was a clincher against MSU. This is the catch that closed the door on the dogs.

Our first loss of the season to Alabama was largely due to our QB Phil Petty playing injured. That shouldn't be a problem this year with our stable of QB's.

One of our ESPN appearances was against UK and that lineman Lorenzen that they call a QB! Here the defense (Sheldon Brown) picks off one of Lorenzen's throws. UK passing game? Ha!!

The Arkansas game was a payback for the previous year's bloodbath. You see here another razorback QB being carted off the field. Their whole QB corps was injured and on the sidelines when we were done with them.

The ominous USC defense (Willie Offord) wreaked havoc on another SEC QB here in a win against Vanderbilt

One of our heartbreakers was to Tennessee. We stopped QB Clausen as you see here... but couldn't stop the run enough to keep them out of field goal range.

The 2000 Florida game was for the Eastern Division and a spot in the SEC Championship. For at least part of the first half the momentum was with the Gamecocks. Like this blocked punt here by Brian Scott.

The second heart breaker of the season was against Clemson. This one was close to the end... and here is the "Catch" that will live on in the history of the rivalry for many years.

The turnaround season was capped off with a New Years Day Bowl at the Outback Bowl. Ryan Brewer, seen here running in another TD, was key to the Gamecocks huge win over favored Ohio State.

DOWN with Clemson TATERS!!!
