 General Information
What's the scoop on GPF's history and future?
If memory serves me right, Gaming Precinct Forums was not always Gaming Precinct Forums. In fact, if you take a look at the actual address of GPF, you will notice that it says PlayStation Precinct... better known as PSP back in the day. Why were we PSP way back then? Well, it happened to be the only system that I could provide game coverage on at the time.

The message board came after all of the projects that finally pushed us into getting a forum.  We once started out as an AOL club that exchanged codes and sent out a weekly newsletter with a rank system and such. After awhile, we finally got our very own website which still exists to this day and can be found at www.angelfire.com/mt/psprecinct.  After we started getting general interest in our website, we created a forum.  The forum started out as an experiment and Rancho posters were the first among the 1200+ members you see here today. Posting finally became the new trend among members and soon after, our horizons expanded to reach more people, hence Gaming Precinct Forums.

What top 10 major events have occurred at GPF?
10) Vanchau, Ezboard founder, visits GPF.
We weren't sure why he was there on a Saturday for no apparent reason. I tried PMming him, but no reply. We think it has to do with what he has been hearing about GPF.

9) Creation of Survivor
The online game helped boost posts per day and opened the site to a whole new crowd of people.

8) Spam attack causes 5000 posts in a day
The attempted attack cost the mods a lot of time cleaning it up and only then did the board have heightened security to ward off future attacks.

7) GPF catches copy cat bug
It is still happening now, but the site has been ripped a number of times, enough to get some people thinking about going to court over the copy cat.

6) Purchase of CSC Gold
With the combination of a donation from a one time visitor on top of a devoted member's, GPF finally had the chance to broaden its horizons through gold. Without it, many of the features we take advantage of today would not be around.

5) Black Days
The attempt to get fewer people to post at the site failed and only caused the site to spiral downwards.

4) Grand opening of Members' Central
It was a huge event when several versions of Members' Central were released. Now members are getting to live through The Station era.

3) Versions Being Released
Every
versions of Gaming Precinct Forums stimulated traffic never seen before on the site. It was amazing to see the sheer number of faces that arrived at the site, some just to look at the design.

2) Board Hacked (Both times)

A string of other boards got hacked but luckily, through swift and calm actions, the board was once again in the hands of prez. Some nasty coding allowed the culprits to get away.  We weren't so fortunate the second time around, causing out site to be down for weeks and members to slowly deplete in numbers.  This prompted the swift advancement of Version 10.0 to draw members back.

1) Chosen for Public Showcase
Getting picked for showcase helped boost member count and eventually led to one of our own mods to discover the site. We applied once again, but the general consensus of the members was not to join the showcase again. Click to view.

Who has worked at GPF?
Ernie continues the long string of moderators who have decided to end their term at GPF.  Unlike most of the other moderators, there was an outcry for his decision to leave the site. His departure was a result of the "degeneration" that GPF is experience through new members and old role playing in every forum and bashing each other for post counts. link426

Jon was perhaps our most lively character ever to grace GPF. He once had a great interest in posting but it has slowly degenerated over the past few months due to other forces much more appealing (online games, etc.) However, he remains a part of GPF today as the forum host for High Life and at times, adds his input on the direction GPF is heading toward. dirtyportajon

Nichole was our very first female moderator, and she was always upbeat to have around. She always had a vision to set things better and is one of the main factors GPF is flourishing. Her generous donations have helped us gain more fame with the Ezboard community. She is no longer with us due to her disappearance from the online world. Hope she comes back. ???

Andy was the right hand man to James. After a long stay committed in delivering the best forum experience possible, Andy thought it was his time to go for whatever reason. He is responsible for starting the Lifestyles and Relationships forum as well as getting people to post at GPF in the first place. greatgamer

Inho lurked at times and during his last few months at GPF was non-existent. He had a great surge of enthusiasm at the beginning of his term but after awhile, that drive diminished. It was in the site's best interest that he be removed to give the position to someone who wanted it much more. His departure left room for our first female moderator, Nichole. chakhanazn

Jay was in college during his 2 year stay at GPF.  He was famous for having the most posts in the history of GPF.  With a bad ass attitude and an informative sense for gaming news, his leave was a surprise to many.  He was unhappy with the new era of GPF which included new posters out to wreak havoc in this "mature" place. squallvi3

Jason was a Rancho member that became a moderator at a time when there were no heavy qualifications or requirements to become one. He had a extended stay at GPF after the January 2000 opening but has been MIA ever since then. But, due to more time, Jason has recently made several appearance at GPF, but at the late hours of the night. jsnmarchi
