This Magellan Meridian Handheld GPS Color Navigation was designed with the adventurist in mind. A person who demands a superior, easy to use handheld navigational gps tool to get them where they need to be. The Meridian Color GPS has the most detailed base map of any handheld GPS on the market today. Its large 16-megabyte US database includes highways, major roads, parks, marine navaids, waterways, airports, cities and more. This is more than twice the detail of most other handhelds on the market.
The Meridian Handheld GPS Color's mapping capabilities can be further enhanced to show rural roads, topographic information, points of interest and more detailed waterway information with Magellan's optional MapSend CD-ROM's and plug-in SD data cards in 16, 32 and 64 MB sizes.
The Meridian Handheld Color's display has 120 X 160 pixel resolution, and a transflective 16 color pallet to make different types of information easy to distinguish on the screen. Both the screen and keypad are backlit for night use. On the outside the high impact plastic case is waterproof, and the rugged rubber armoring helps withstand harsh environments.
