Transcript from the Q&A portion of meeting Eric following "Misalliance" in Los Angeles.  "The Play's the Thing!"  (Imagine Eric smiling throughout.  He seemed to enjoy himself and feel very comfortable, as if he was hanging out with part of his old gang.)

Eric: [reading questions]....okay.
Sprouty: I can't read half her writing--
Eric: Well, you want to ask me and then I'll answer them-- [notices camera]  Oh my!
Sprouty: Okay. You're video cam taping this?
Irina:  Yeah.
Sprouty:  Well, I want on camera--
Eric:  Okay--
Sprouty:  I can't snuggle in any closer.
Fan:  Is this recording?
S: Now. So, what attracted you to the role of Mr. Dimitri, Eric?  [She waves her hand toward Eric in a here-he-is fashion..]
E
: Hehehe. Umm. What attracted me to the role of Mr. Dimitri? I remember the story of Heloise and Abelard, do you remember the-- There are all kinds of stories throughout history of teachers and students crossing the line. And I know that happens. And it's in the news all the time now so I thought, this- And it was done in such an interesting way because you were never quite sure [Sprouty- Exactly] if we were going to, to do anything improper but you could sense the attraction. And it was so well written and all the actors were so good I --
S: Yeah. Okay.
E: --I was, you know, I'd have been crazy to have not done it.  [He grins at the camera, looks at someone else, then swings his head and looks directly at Irina.]
S: And I guess the next question is which role would you like to play?
E: Ohhh.
S: Go nuts here.  Hehe.
E: Ah. Geez. I'm, I'm-- Shakespeare. I'm actually a big--
S: Which, which play in Shakespeare? That's not on here but-
E: Well, Henry. Henry IV, part 1 of 2.
S: What role?
E: Henry.
[
The rest of us, in unison]:  Henry!  [Laughter.  Eric gets a kick out of this while he looks at us.]
Sprouty: Henry. Well, I thought I'd ask. Okay. Oh well.
[
trailing laughter]
S: How many takes of the Kiss Scene did you do? Ohh, hot questions.
E: How many takes of the Kiss Scene did we do--
S: And what was Julia Whelan like? I'm sticking stuff on here now-
E: Julia, Julia Whelan was very-
S: We all like Julia.
E: Oh, she was wonderful.
Fan:  Very good actor.
Eric:  She was very, very serious [Sprouty- Umhum she looks that way] and very--- She really wanted to be sure that nothing - ah- um- exploitative or improper [Sprout- Ummm] would happen. She was very specific about how far we would go because at one point they were actually talking about having us in bed.

[
Gasps from all of us.  Excited "Haaaa" from someone.]

S: Oh my God!!
Fan: Oh. my. God. ! [Sprouty briefly rests her head on Eric's shoulder.
E:  Shocking.
Fan:  That is pretty --
E: But it never, I don't think it ever made it to script form.
S: Oh, no.
Fan: They would have gotten cancelled, quicker than they did.
E: That would be-
[
overlapping conversations here...]
Sprout: Did they ever film the popcorn scene?
Eric: Popcorn scene.
S: There was- I don't know if it ever made it to the final scripts, but there was a popcorn scene--
G/Dfan: It probably would have gone up the ratings [re: G/D in bed]
Fan: Wow, that's heavy duty.
S: As she was leaving the house-
Fan: Yeah, oh about the butter.
S: What was it?
Fan: The butter. The butter.
Eric: Ohhh.
Fan: The butter.
S: Like you would have been leaving the house, to go to see "Rashomon"-
E: Yeah, no they never filmed it.
S: Oh, that sucks because that would have been a good scene.
Irina: You were supposed to sing something. Did you sing?
Eric: In the show?
S: Yeah, you were supposed to sing "Buffalo Gals", you probably don't even know this now-
Fan: Could you sing it now!
E: Oh no no. I did sing it--
S: You know "Buffalo gals won't you come out tonight and --"
E: Because that's their--
S: "dance by the light of the moon".
E: I did sing it and they cut it out.
S: That's wrong.
Fan: Because of "Snuggle Puppy"?
[laughter]
Sprouty: Noooo. Yeah, cause they heard you sing and they-
Eric: Heh. They heard me sing and they didn't like it.
Fan: Oh. Oh come on.
E: I don't know why they cut it out. Umm. Because they cut out a lot- a lot of stuff.
