Fan: Would you ever write? Do you write? Are you a closet--
Eric: I edit. I'm an editor.
Fan: Ahh, come on--
E: I am. I'm actually working on a script with Winnie's husband--
S: [talking to herself] Did you edit anything tonight because that play seemed to go fast.
Sprouty: Really.
G/Dfan: Are you serious? With Les? I mean, Paul Dooley.
Eric: Paul Dooley.  [He smiles.]
S: Yeah, cause you met him too.
Fan: Ahh excellent. Most excellent!
Eric: Yeah.
G/Dfan: Are you going to star in it or he's going to star in it?
Eric: No, neither one of us. He wants me to direct it.
S: That would be good.
G/Dfan: And are you producing it as well?
Eric: No, we're just in the very early stages now.
Fan: "My Horrible Year" was great. I mean it really was.
Eric: Oh, thank you.
S: And my favorite--oh my favorite oh--
Fan: You are a 12 year-old or 16 year-old whatever. It was just so-- it was beautifully done I thought.
E: Yeah.
S: And I think we read somewhere what you said like Chekhov-- "a talent for life" [re: Uncle Charlie cameo but I can't decipher what was said...Eric laughs though] ..... When you jumped in the pool and the popcorn at the end. I love that.
E: Hehehe.
S: I've seen too many of your movies, I'm sorry.
E: You have--
G/Dfan: [to Sprouty]  And your GSA question. I didn't mean to cut you off--
S: We've seen the "Rocking Horse Winner" and everything. Oh God. [mock covers face with hand]
E: Oh wow--
G/Dfan: [to Sprouty again] Your GSA question. You said that it changed--
S: And the last question--
Irina: Can I ask one more? Were you (given) any history for Dimitri character? [in mysterious Russian tones]
S: Oh, 'cause she wanted to know like in "Killing Zoe" how you sort of had that he worked in Radio Shack but--
E: Right. Nobody gave me any. None of the writers did. But I came up with my own.
S: What was that?
E: I'm not going to say anything--
Fan: Yeah, you shouldn't, you shouldn't --
S: Why not!
E: You can't just read my journals!  [in a laughing tone]
S: Ahhh but we're not going to tell anyone. Come on- sh*t-
E: No, I think it's always best for people who watch something to come up and create their own stories.
S: That's true. Okay. And I guess the last question, which we've sort of already asked is-- What is your next directing project?
E: I don't know [said slurred into one word somehow !! ]
S: And did the presentation of the Grace/Dimitri story influence you as a director?
E: That's a good one.
[
subtle pause]
E: No!
[
laughter all around]
S: Hey! That doesn't count. [
claps hands]
E: You know I'm never able to tell what has influenced me in one way or another until like ten years from now and then I can look back and go ohh I can see why I did that because that moved me here. I mean I'm so oblivious now, you know.
[
Sprouty nods. **note nodded in agreement at the point, not that Eric is oblivious! but Eric starts to smile..]
Fan: You're not oblivious.
E: Annnana. I put my gym clothes in a grocery bag.  [he lifts bag slightly]
S: Oh, I'm sorry.
Fan: Well, that's okay. Laundry is not important.
[
laughter]
Eric: Okay.  [He stands up and starts turning toward the stage.]
S: Yeah, laundry is important---
Eric: And on that note, thank you all for coming.
Sprouty: ---We want him to be clean.
Fan:  Thank you.

The End.

Eric expressed also a "Thanks for the gifts. And the chat." prior to the wave goodbye amidst nonsensical chatting :))  Once he disappeared through the door there were comments consisting of “Oh.my.God!” and “Woo-hoo!!!”  and “It felt so good.”  THANK YOU ERIC!!!
