THE BUILD UP TO THE DAY
Graham and I had fun times at
our respective stag and hen nights in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Graham says he had his camera
confiscated at the strip club he was at........do we believe him?!?!??!?
Nikki went to TGI Friday's restaurant
in Glasgow with friends and family on July 17th 1999. The Hen Night
was also on the Bride's birthday and also her friend Karen Gray had come
down from Aberdeen to sit her Veterinary Nursing Finals the day before,
so the party was a triple celebration!
(GOOD NEWS - Karen Gray becomes
a qualified Veterinary Nurse in August 1999; well done Karen!)
The party included the Bride's sister-in-law, Bobbie who had come over from Fife for the night; Jane, the Mother of the Groom and her friends; the Bridesmaid Christine and her friends Maggie and Cynthia who had very kindly come over from Belfast for the weekend; Karen, our South African friend who's an old college mate of the Bride; and Gemma, the wife of the keyboard player of Graham's band, 'Age of Reason''.
The Bride was presented with a Birthday cake and told to stand on her chair and have the whole restaurant sing "Happy Birthday" to her!! This was after the whole Hen Party decided to tie 20 helium balloons to the Bride's dress and yes, I was made to go around Glasgow that night with them tied to me!!!!
A great night was had by all, trawling the clubs and pubs of Glasgow and I thank everyone who came along and had a laugh with me. It made my last birthday as a single lass very special.
