Mr Robinson (Rocka)
This deputy head of the time was a great guy, he had both high intelligence and he also had a wonderful sense of humour, he was also very fair.
He took all the stick from us and managed to control us to a certain extent, I am sure all my ex-schoolmates would agree he was a great teacher, and we all respected him.
He had this sort of upside-down head, his beard looked more like his head and his head looked like his beard should have looked, bald.
He reminded me of the Hobbit, but I will never forget him and he taught me some good lessons in life.
Mr Pettit
Games teacher extraordinaire.
Dave Pettit was a good teacher and actually got some of us playing Rugby for the first time. Me and Rocky Rowe ended up playing for Scarborough Colts Rugby Team thanks to his help and I have enjoyed the game throughout my life, although I dont play any more.
Bit of a tough-nut was Dave, so didnt get much stick from us.
Chris Ware...
Supposed seamanship expert from Graham, not exactly an old salt, more the yachty type, got loads of stick from us because he had no idea about seamanship, and not that much idea about teaching maths either - the original Yuppy. I remember one particularly interesting math lesson with him up at Graham School, started in the classroom and ended halfway down the stairs, enough said, some of the present pupils may be reading... those who were there know.
Miss Briggs (Hilda)
Very proper first head of Graham School. A very nice lady who just had no idea what we were about, hardly surprising that she left all the discipline to Rocka.
Had a great MG convertible, if memory serves Yellow. Somebody slashed her soft top roof one day at school, not GST I can assure you Miss Briggs.
