From Toronto I flew Air Canada to London England. Departing London by Ethiopian Airlines flew to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with a brief stopover in Rome. From Addis Ababa continued on to Tanzania with another stopover in Nairobi, Kenya. Five airplanes, four countries and 3 days later I finally arrived at Kilimanjaro airport. From there we drove to our hotel in Arusha (about 50 kms). Leaving Arusha by Landrovers in the morning we took a safari through some neighbouring game parks; the Ngorongoro crater and the famous Serengeti. After a few days of game viewing we returned to Arusha passing beneath the glacial dome of Kilimanjaro before arriving at the village of Marangu to prepare for the trek and relax in our comfortable mountain hotel. |
