Hey!!!! After charging the battery that came in the car to no avail. I have put a new battery in and moved some fuses around as well as reattach some of the connections in the engine (some of them were undone or the wires weren't attached correctly). I turned the key and hit what I suppose is the cold start button...and the starter engine works!! It turns....it doesn't kick over yet, but I feel like I've come a long way already. I'm not getting spark to the distributer so I think my coil is bad. It's all rusty and nasty looking anyway...so if it's just a wiring problem I'd still like to replace the coil. Also finding more about the strange metal line that is broken and sticking out of the side of the car by the driver side door. A forum poster at TheSamba.com tells me it's a part of the early emissions system. I am able to connect all the pieces...I just wasn't sure how secure it needed to be...I think I'll just slap 'em together. |
