Well, my name is Mark Mindrup. I'm from Cedar Hill, TX (a suburb of Dallas) in the USA. I've lived here all my life, until August 25, 1998. On that date, I joined the U.S. Navy. I enjoy playing basketball, playing music, and listening to music. My favorite secular bands are Megadeth and Metallica. I
spend alot of my time listening to Christian music and going to Christian concerts. Tooth and Nail Records manages alot of the Christian bands that I like, such as: Embodyment, (stavesacre), Starflyer 59, and Living Sacrifice. Since I joined the Navy, I haven't been to too many concerts like these. I'm currently on shore duty, stationed in Corpus Christi, TX. Well, I attended Cedar Hill High School for a year and a half. I was expelled because they found a butterfly knife in my car, what a joke. I was in public school from grades K-8, then I went to private school for my Freshman year. After that, I was home schooled for a year and a half. I returned to public school after that. I attended Cedar Valley Community College for two semesters and recieved 15 credits, the Navy's requirement for having no high school diploma. I mentioned that I like to play music. I play bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and drums. I have a black on black Jackson Performer PS-1, a Washburn D21S-d Dread Acoustic, a chrome colored Tama Rockster 5-piece drum set w/ double bass pedal and two boom stands (crash and ride), and I had a black body, white pickguard Peavey Milestone II bass guitar, but it was stolen. I have played in two bands, Millenium and Wyrmwood. Wyrmwood changed there name to Helvete after I left and was discussing a record contract, last I heard. I'm not in a band anymore, I just play for fun. Maybe, sometime in the future, i'll join a band and become famous (yea right!). I spend some of my time on the computer playing Defiance, but most of my time goes toward designing and updating web pages (which, sometimes, is a full-time job). Like I said, my real full time job is the U.S. Navy. I'm currently stationed in Great Lakes, Illinois, about an hour north of Chicago on the shore of Lake Michigan. I'm going to school to become either an ET or FC (Electronics Technician or Fire Controlman). People keep on asking me if i'm going to stay in the military for a career. I dont think so. It is nice and all, but just not my style. I don't like to have a curfew, no matter what my age is. In the Navy, they can tell you to goto bed, even if you are 50 years old... YIKES! I also would not like to bring a family up in this type of atmosphere. Always moving and changing locations. I'm just using the Navy as a stepping stone for college, hands-on experience, and a reputation that can get be a very well paying job. If you would like to know more about the military, feel free to drop me a line. I consider myself a victory over previous mistakes and downfalls...
