| From Michael Brasfield Chief Of Police Ft. Lauderdale, FL According to the Family Tree software relationship calculator, Aaron Brassfield and I are related, but very slightly - he would have been my "half 4th cousin, 4 times removed". As the common wisdom about the Brasfield~Brassfield line goes, the 3 brothers from England formed the current 3 branches - Aaron and his ancestors were from (one), my line from one of the others. According to the 1959 work "Brasfield~Brassfield Genealogies" by A.C. & E.N. McAllister (720 pages) that is the main source for most family genealogy, James Henderson Brassfield is first mentioned on page 345 in the list of 9 living children (at time of father's death) of Jesse Brasfield and Mary F. Reavis (probably Mary Pritchard Reavis). James Henderson Brassfield's family is listed on page 362, and states that his wife's name was not known, and that there were 7 known children. It also states that James Henderson Brassfield died when his son, William Riley Brassfield was small. The book states that the children were: James Huston (married Jane Crumb and ??), William Riley (married Margaret Ellen Thompson), Perry H.( shown in 1870 Daviess County, Indiana Census living in household of Francis M. Graves), Elizabeth, Nancy Ann, Mary, and Lucinda. No mention of Aaron or of any other marriages. That is not too much of a surprise, as there are many missing or inaccurate items in the book, although over all it is a good reference. Brassfield Peterson (Mrs. Daniel George) of Pasadena, California Census 1870 - Daviess County, Indiana The book lists at least 5 Aaron Brasfield/Brassfield individuals, none of them with James Henderson Brassfield: Aaron Bannister (1875-1943) Son of John Francis Marion Brasfield & Elizabeth Johnson / born in Missouri Aaron Charles (1857-1928) Son of Ansel Deverts Brasfield & Elizabeth Armon Brasfield / born in Iowa Aaron Franklin (1848-1923) Son of Abner Brasfield & Lucinda Gee / born in Arkansas Aaron Riley (1849-aft 1931) Son of Othnal Minter Brasfield & Matilda White / unknown where born Aaron Thomas (1827-1864) Son of James Brasfield and Mary S. unknown / unknown where born Sorry, nothing else to go on.
